Did you know Zwift has 200+ cycling routes that earn you a special achievement badge and XP bonus the first time they’re completed? And runners have 35+ routes that award badges bonuses as well!
Here’s everything you need to know about Zwift route achievements, including the little gotchas that trip up new Zwifters and a full list of all the routes that award an achievement badge.
Every Badge has a Bonus
When you earn a route achievement badge, you also receive a one-time XP bonus for completing that route. This bonus is equal to the XP you already earned for the route (20XP per km), so you effectively double your XP earning rate when finishing routes for the first time, helping you level up faster.

Note: It’s not exactly accurate that you double your XP earning rate when running a new route. This is how Zwift set up the badges for running routes in the early days, but in recent years, they’ve set up running badges to award XP at the same rate as riding badges, which means newer route badges earn you about half the bonus that older ones did.
What Counts (and What Doesn’t)
Route badges can be earned in three ways:
- Select the route from the home screen, then ride the full route. The game will make the correct turns for you. You can do this as a “free ride” or a workout.
- Join an event (group workout, social ride, race, Meetup, etc) that uses the route, and ride the full route. (If the event ends before the route is finished, you must continue riding in order to finish the route and earn the badge.)
- Join a RoboPacer or friend using the route, then ride the full route. (This can be tricky, since you’ll probably start midway through the route. You must cross the route’s start and finish line to complete it.)
What will not earn the badge is you freely navigating the route when the game thinks you’re on a different route.
Many Zwifters have hopped into the game, completed a particular route, then tried to keep riding and complete another route in the same session. This only works if you teleport to a rider or RoboPacer on the new route. But if you try to navigate the route manually, Zwift won’t know which route you want to complete, and it won’t award the badge.
Your route selection is only saved when you select a route from the home screen menu, begin a new event, or teleport to another rider or RoboPacer.

Planning and Tracking Your Progress
Most Zwifters use the Companion app or the in-game badge indicator to track which routes have unearned badges (read how to do that here). These approaches aren’t without their drawbacks, though:
- The in-game list requires you to fire up the game before browsing, it only shows the day’s scheduled worlds (unless you use the fake workout world hack), and it doesn’t include event-only routes.
- The Companion app’s list could be super convenient in theory, but in practice the list isn’t accurate, with many routes shown as not awarding badges when in fact they do.
Some Zwifters use tools like Zwifthub to track which routes they’ve completed, but that requires manually marking the route as complete. (Which, to be fair, is rather satisfying.)
I’ve included a complete, up-to-date list of all routes with achievement badges below. You can copy and paste this into any spreadsheet if you’d like a list you can print, edit, etc.
Routes Without Badges
Some routes do not have achievement badges:
- Certain Event-Only Routes: Some routes in Zwift are not available for free rides, and thus can only be ridden in official events. While Zwift has been enabling achievement badges for event-only routes in recent years, many older event-only routes don’t have them. Examples include fondo routes like the Gran Fondo, as well as many reverse routes and after-party routes.
- Ride Badge, But No Run Badge: while runners can run on all the “mixed-use” routes in Zwift, most of those routes don’t award an achievement badge for runners.
- Run-Only Routes: Some routes are only available to runners, and thus have no achievement badge for cyclists. These routes always have a running achievement badge, though! Examples include Jon’s Route and Hudson Roll.
A Complete List of Route Badges on Zwift
Here is a complete list of Zwift routes that award an achievement badge (and bonus XP) upon initial completion. Since Zwift awards different badges and different XP amounts for riders vs runners, I’ve created two separate lists: one for routes that award badges when ridden, the other for routes that award badges when run.
Badges marked with an * are event-only routes.

New routes coming 😉
Can we have a bigger pretzel route in watopia? We need something that covers ALL roads and segments for a new long route challenge. It can be 200+ km for all I care I just want an official route for something like that.
I need to work out a Rebel Route that covers all Watopia roads. It’s no small project to figure it out! I also want to do three Rebel Routes for fresh Gran, Medio, and Bambino fondo routes…
That’s fun. You have do the Vehicle Routing Problem/Traveling Sales Person algorithm: Minimizing the re-ridden roads while still covering all the roads.
Fairly sure AI can figure out a route that touches the least double roads but still riding all
If by AI you mean the current crop of LLM based things, then no, that would be a task they are really bad at. Like playing chess.
That would be awesome! May be a good late Christmas gift….or New Years gift
Eric – here is a route that covers them all, I rode it in January: https://www.strava.com/activities/13409498870
I designed the route to tackle the tough climbs first and minimize backtracking and U-turns. If I remember correctly, my route was like this:
Started at downtown Watopia, selected Peak Performance route, followed Peak Performance through Fuego Flats and Southern coast, stayed on Southern coast towards the jungle instead of going up The Grade. Then up and down Alpe du Zwift, upon descending the Alpe, left on Jungle Circuit towards Mayan Bridge, Mayan bridge to Jungle circuit, then turn back on Southern Coast, climb Mayan and Itza KOMs, descend lower section of The Grade and U turn around the roundabout and go up The Grade. After climbing the Grade continue to the top of Epic KOM and Radio Tower. Descend down towards the Jungle, turn on Epic KOM bypass. Take the bypass and climb the other side of the Epic KOM, this time only to the Grade junction. Make a U-turn at The Grade junction and descend, go through the tunnels towards downtown, then right towards Titans Grove. Take Titans Grove, at the end turn left towards Fuego Flats, turn around on the roundabout and go back, this time take the tunnels towards Italian Villas. Then up the lower part of reverse Epic KOM then Jungle circuit to Mayan bridge, take Mayan bridge and the rest of the Jungle circuit back to Epic KOM junction. Descend the lower section of reverse Epic KOM, then up the switchbacks towards the volcano bridge. Do the loop around Jarvis Island and a lap around volcano, then climb the Volcano KOM. Then back to the bridge towards downtown, take the Esses and climb Zwift Reverse KOM. Descend to downtown then back towards the Esses to cover the remaining 2 bypass roads – I remember this last part was a little tricky b/c the bypass road turn by the Sprint can only be made from one direction, so I had to make and extra lap around Italian Villas, turn on the bypass road then U-turn and go up Reverse KOM again to the KOM bypass and descend towards downtown. Total: 112 miles / 10,184 ft of climbing, 7 hours of riding
Fantastic overview! Thanks Eric for all your work.
How many people, not counting bots, have all the badges?
(prl full, 25 alps, Everest,1200 watts, a lot of hard work.)
I am only missing the Full PRL…except any new ones now though. I usually knock them in out a week or two after they come out. I just haven’t had enough need to suffer through the full yet. that is going to be terrible!!!! Been on for 9 years…lots of work goes into these I can attest. They are a great nugget for me.
I have all of the cycling and running route badges. I’m still missing the sub-5 minute “Olympian” and the Marathon extra-credit badges for running. Also haven’t done a vEveresting yet. I counted and I have 317 of a possible 320 badges. I’m going to say that the sub-5 mile run is probably the least frequently earned badge
333 possible if count in these. Some not yet available
Mine says 238 route badges for cycling, but that is including the 6 new routes that havent been released yet.
333 is run & ride grand total. 240 cycling route badges if you include Repack Rush
240 ??? Crap, than I am missing one in my list. I get 239 counting Repack Rush. Even the Zwift Achievements Page says 238 (without repack, since that is officially a special badge)
If you count the cycling route badges listed above, I believe it comes to 240 including Repack Rush
Ok, you were correct. Just put my sheet and Erics list above next to eachother and I had missed Three Step Sisters as a new route.
It comes down to this now :
Paris 2
Richmond 8
Innsbruck 6
Yorkshire 7
Scotland 12
France 19
New York 33
London 17
Makuri Island 43
Watopia 92
And that is 239 and add Repack Rush we get your 240.
Thanks, am updated now 🙂
There is this route but it doesn’t have a badge

Don’t know how we can ride it, maybe as a Veloviewer rebel route?
Missing the new ones, Masochist (plan for next week), Everesting (no desire) and Olympian (not capable, the WR for my age group is 4:50 for a mile)
Putting aside the newly released route badges, I have all the riding badges except for those needing high power. I’m a lightweight and can hold a reasonable w/kg but I can’t put out high absolute power. I would love to get the 700 watts badge. Garmin says my 1 second power curve PB is 632 and 5 second is 609, so 700 feels both tantalisingly close and so far away. 800 to 1200 are definitely impossible!
Try this. Do a normal warm up and when you are ready for your attempt get into a gear you can do high cadence in.
Start spinning but not to the max yet. Than stop pedalling for 2 seconds, followed by an all out push with max cadence you can. Your power should shoot through the roof.
I did have all the ride route badges earlier this year, and most of the others (the 1189W not going to happen ). And then new routes were/are being released 😉
I just don’t have the 7 routes that were added recently.
It’s just a cosmetic issue.
I’ve got everything available for cycling but Everest
You might want to double check the “ride with a robopacer” suggestion, many people have found this is hit or miss as not all routes cover the lead-in when robopacers are doing laps. It seems very inconsistent.
You can get the route badge if you complete two full laps after the lead‑in section has disappeared from the map. Once the lead‑in portion no longer shows, ride one complete lap, then ride a second complete lap to trigger the badge. This makes for a long ride on some routes, but it is quite manageable on many of the shorter ones.
Zwift are adamant the rules state that 1+ lap is enough and no lead in is required (see here https://support.zwift.com/en_us/route-badges-rk9TZFshK). Same answer from their support multiple times. They need to document it properly and fix it.
Day one of asking for a new pretzel route in watopia that covers all the newer roads including titans, southern coast, the grade, and Jarvis island
Is this absolutely correct? I didn’t think Jarvis Seaside Sprint, No Sleep Till Brooklyn, Southern Coast Cruise or Repack Rush had badges? I got XP for doing them but didn’t get a badge. Or has this changed and I should do them again?
Edit: just opened latest version and see badges have appeared in achievements screen (empty as I need to re-ride them) for all except Repack Rush.
Actually, don’t think I’ve ridden Brooklyn, but definitely have the others (and didn’t get a badge).
Several routes got new badges in this week’s update: https://zwiftinsider.com/update-1-104-156617/
Repack Rush… not sure when it got a badge. And I haven’t ridden it to confirm it manually… but Zwift says it’s got one.
I think Repack Rush was open among the route badges (not hidden) from start, but you would need steering. Then it was made hidden and moved to the Extra credit badges, when achieved. You still need steering I guess.
Repack Rush shows up as an Extra Credit badge once complete.
Aha! I do have the badge but was looking for it in the route badge section. Thanks for mentioning that.
I don’t know if anyone else is seeing this but in Companion it says i have completed Richmond Rollercoaster and Innsbruck After Party. [You could do event only routes with the hack before they changed to the new screen]
On the badges screen they come up as uncompleted.Yorkshire Double Loop comes up as completed on both but i think that had a badge before. The other new routes are acting as normal.
I did Richmond Rollercoaster today and it gave me the badge and XP bonus. So i guess you have to do them again.
Thank you as always Eric. Aside the 6 new routes you wrote about earlier this week, I have all the route and achievement badges (evidently I love Zwifting). There are some hidden achievement badges I’m not capable of getting such as the Everesting and Alp du Zwift under 60 minutes badges (I’m simply not strong enough now), but I can live with that.
I do wish though, that Zwift would give easy access and rewards to finish the remaining ‘event only’ routes. Can you have a word with them please? They’ll listen to you.
I wish Zwift would tell you which event-only badges you don’t have, rather than making them invisible until you pick them up!
Same. And I’ve told them as much!
2 weeks ago I had 270 badges now after currently updates I have 40 out of a 43 total badges available. Any explanations?
They’ve separated the run and ride badges so you only see the badges for whatever mode you are in and also the achievement totals (Career, Cycling, Extra Credits) are quoted as a sub-total separately from the Route Badges. I am 38/39 in the achievement section (missing the 700+ watt badges) but with the higher wattage badges expanding your extra credits, 40/43 is a plausible number under the new presentation.
Will you be redoing the printable list sometime too? Please 😌
I copied and pasted this list into Excel ticked off the ones I have completed and then printed my final 14.
New routes. Yay. But they’re still hidden on the companion app. I’ve been a swifter 11 months and only have 5 left to do. Level 64 wasn’t that hard to get to but the next 36 will probably take longer with no double XP routes left in the new year.
How are the badges listed in game? Chronologically? It’s a real PITA. I wish there was better organization to the way they are listed/displayed…
Thanks for all the great info Eric.
My New Year’s wish is that Zwift would keep 2 separate badge lists for each Zwifter. One would be for your lifetime on Zwift (as it is now) and one would be for the current year. Allow us to toggle between the 2 if we wanted. I would bet that the current year list would be very popular as people set new goals each year.
I wouldn’t mind event-only routes if they actually held events on them with any kind of regularity. Otherwise, #FreeTheRoutes .
Yeah, if they are gonna do event only routes they need to do something so that there are events on these routes at least some of the time.
The article says you get route badges from joining robopacers, i believe this is not necessarily true. If a route has a leadin track that differs from the “lap” the robopacer finishes every go around, you will not get the badge. Ive emailed with zwift about this after having few times where i rode with a robopacers for up to 3 or 4 complete laps and it still wouldnt count. I dont know if they fixed this already
I’m sure keeping all these route lists up to date can be time consuming with all the new routes being dropped lately. I made an updated version of the printable list on Excel – complete with links to each route’s page here on ZI. I’m happy to share it, if you’d like
Please share your link
Great work @Eric Schlange . Any chance of an additional paragraph or a separate article on the maximum number of badges in each section?
44 Cycling badges? Career – 12, ‘Cycling’ – 21, Extra Credit – 11 Have I missed any???
Currently available Cycling Route badges – 231 as of today’s date? (Repack is ‘extra credit’ not a route badge).
With another 8 unreleased routes (what ‘event-only’ actually means) making a theoretical max of 239 cycling route badges, whenever Zwift decide to make the new routes available?
I’m sure the runners would like to see a separate breakdown for their sport as well.
Hi Eric, another EVENT ONLY route has just popped up to be included in your list InnsbruckConti
“InnsbruckConti” Route Details (Innsbruck) | Zwift Insider
It doesn’t have an achievement badge, though…
I’ve completed all 225 of the Zwift route badges. As of today, suddenly they’ve all been reset to “incomplete! Anyone else seeing this?
Zwift added two new running event routes for the Tour De France: Paris Pacer in Paris, 6.8 mi, 259 ft; and Rues in Rythme in Paris, 3.1 mi, 111 ft — NEVER MIND, you’ve already posted it, sorry 😐
