Hi Thomas.

Would be nice to the effort score on these route descriptions. They have changed from the old difficulty scores to include…1.5, 2.5 etc.

There’s a little bit of dirt in it, but only part of the middle section

Mostly tarmac surface but the rolling up and down with some flat guessing Scott addict or pin. dogma f with Enve 7.8 climb yet aero. Gravel section not long enough to switch to gravel bike unless you going for that segment as lost of tarmac after that would require a change back to road bike on a downhill which will cost a rider being in group they were in on the gravel climb. A rider would need a massive time gap to do the change.

    And no need to switch

I just raced it the this morning and I used the Tron bike. Worked fine. It’s just so varied that no bike is perfect so all bikes are perfect!

If you look closely to the top of the map at breakaway brae, and you squint hard enough, you can actually see one

Hopefully they continue to expand this map as they have done with others over time. Seems like a lot of possibilities of longer routes, bigger climbs given the surround landscape. Would be disappointing if the longest route stayed at only 15ish miles with ~900ft vert.

I really want to do events and free rides in scotland but “early march” apparently has not come yet. I hope they expand this and maybe make a transition like they do with Makuri from the city, etc. from Yorkshire.

Eric, a very small point – the lead-in above is not showing anything. I think it is about 0.5 mile.

Such a shame that there is again no decent climb in the route. It’s all max 2 minute sprint efforts. Disappointing.

Why I didn’t earn a badge for this route when finishing Ride Scotland: Route 5: The Muckle Yin? I had distance of 23.6 km while crossing a finish line and continued riding untill 24.5 km.

I did this ride a minute ago and finished at just under 23.5km. The length listed is a little too long.
