Route Description
This route begins with a 1.2km lead-in from the start pens to the Champion’s Sprint banner. Once the official lap begins you can enjoy a bit of flat road and even downhill for the first 800 meters of the lap before the road turns left and it’s time to climb!
You’ve got a tough, straight 7% ramp to tackle – the longest climb on this course – and the official Clyde Kicker Reverse KQOM hasn’t even begun yet!
Turn left at the top of the ramp, and the road levels out and even goes downhill as you cross the KQOM start line. Then you’ve got a pitchy 600 meters to the Clyde Kicker Reverse banner before descending fast to the 400 meters of grinding false flat that takes you to the finish line.
Ready for another lap?
Whenever I do the route in this direction, I get the Champion’s Reverse Sprint Jersey/kit (even though, as far as I can tell, there is no such segment), but no one else other than me can see the jersey. Last night, 3 of us did the course together and all saw ourselves with this sprint jersey but not on the others (though I did see a notification of the other two getting the jersey as they went through the banner). “Interesting” bug. I think it’s been around since this map was created as I seem to remember getting it once a year ago (only did the reverse route a couple times as, up until now, I never needed to recon for a race on it).
I wonder if this bug is part of the reason the ZRL finals aren’t including Fastest Through Segment points on this course.
I saw the same thing when I raced yesterday. The HUD indicated that everybody got the Champion’s Sprint Jersey at the end of the first complete lap. This was reported as a bug in Zwift Forums in March 2023.
Glad to hear I’m not imagining it (or at least am not the only one if I am). When I mentioned something about this on Facebook, Eric said he’d never seen it (and he has probably ridden the route a lot more than I), so I didn’t know if I was going crazy as I thought I’d seen it every time I’d done that course.
Take a look at Erik Lee’s (Don’t Get Dropped Cycling) Youtube from this morning (April 10) for an example of this. At about 8:40 into the video, you’ll see everybody is taking the Champion’s Sprint Jersey. I checked the finish of laps 2-6, and nobody was taking the jersey, although several riders were setting course PRs.
I was excited about the Glasgow routes, but very little looks familiar, the country side doesn’t look right, the city ceneter doesn’t look right, even George Square looks wrong. I undersrand a little creativity, but why bother calling it Glasgow when it doesn’t feel like it or Scotland. There are lots of cool features in Glasgow they could have done, or even done the crow road/Lennoxtown. Bummed out by the number of castles I passed, felt like copy paste.
Just before launch they changed it to “inspired by Scotland” rather than literally Scotland, so I reckon they knew it was too far off. I’m Scottish born (living in Australia) and it does nothing for me. There’s glimpses of something vaguely right like the Glasgow Central Station bridge, but the countryside isn’t Scottish at all.
I do wonder if they would have to pay for image rights to replicate landmarks exactly. London doesn’t look like London either.
No, they wouldn’t. A landmark is in the public domain. Anyone can create their own representation of it. I get the comments about the non-Scottish countryside, but London feels sufficiently like London to me.

This is a very fun route!
Pretty sure I’ve ridden this on more than one event but I do not see the achievement badge in Zwift. Glasgow Crit Circuit is there but not this one. Am I alone in this?
