Watopia’s “Tour of Fire and Ice” begins in the lava and ends in freezing snow above the treeline. It’s a tour of Watopian extremes!
The route begins at the Volcano banner, then takes you to where the Road to Sky route begins. Therefore, this route is basically Road to Sky with ~7 miles and a few hundred feet of climbing added.

Route Description

Route profile by ZwiftHub – the place to plan and track your route achievements!
Events on this route begin at the downtown Watopia start pier, while free-ride efforts begin at the Volcano Circuit banner. After passing through the Volcano banner you head directly across the land bridge, up the twisty dirt climb to the Italian Villas, then turn right onto Ocean Boulevard to ride through the fishing village and head up the short climb that marks the beginning of the Epic KOM reverse.
But instead of completing the Epic KOM reverse, we hang a right toward the Jungle, climbing a bit then descending to the dirt road of the Jungle Loop. Then it’s a right turn to take us to the bottom of Zwift’s longest climb: Alpe du Zwift. Hope you brought your climbing legs (and climbing bike)!
Hi there at the weekend I completed 6 laps of the volcano and also gave over 100 ride on. Neither badges have updated can you please look into this thanks
Did you have multiple Zwift on 2+ devices? My experience is that if you have Zwift on let say Phone & Apple TV/ Mac/ PC it tends to mess up the “saving” part.
Companion Apps + one Zwift log-on is the way to go.
I went into Zwift and chose to complete the tour of fire and ice on Sunday. It started me in the Volcano and up toward the the Epic then up the Alpe. When I had climbed the Alpe it didn’t give me a completed tour badge though? Does the official Zwift route not start you at the correct point to collect the badge?
Same thing here not funny
The same has happened to me!
Seeing all these comments I was sure to pay close attention for the banner when I reached the top of Alpe du Zwift. Sure enough, I didn’t see the badge banner pop up at the top. I then road all the way down. When the route turned to the right at the jungle I stopped. I never saw the badge banner pop up for Tour of Fire and Ice, but after I saved the ride and looked at my badges, the Tour of Fire and Ice badge was marked as complete. I had not completed previously.
Today I selected Tour of Fire and Ice, started at Volcano, climbed Epic KOM and Alpe du Zwift (as described on this website). Completed the climb in about 97 minutes. Got the route badge and Zwift KOM gloves. No problem.
Same with me. I have done tour of fire and ice twice and still no badge. I have done it very slowly but would like the badge and route completed banner to come up. This time when I did it I did a total of 40km so gave it plenty of opportunities.
i’m using Kickr and apple iPad with Zwift. Had no problems. Did the Zwift update now the power keeps dropping. I’ll tried everything. All was fine until update, very frustrating
tour of fire and ice, right at top of alp de Zwift, I turned around!!!! What???? Zwift made me do it!!!’
Eric. ADZ is no longer Zwifts longest hill. That goes to Ventop. 🙂
Does this route count towards the masochist badge?
My understanding is that every ride up the Alpe counts toward the masochist badge.
i want to complete the chalenge everest in one go does it go on a loop or after you climb it once it just sends you into roaming mode?
I state up front that I offer only my opinion – not necessarily accurate. When you reach the summit of the Alpe you will ride a loop that puts you back on the road you just climbed for a descent. Enjoy! I think you should descend to either the start of the KOM beacon or just before the green “gate” your passed through when turning out of the Jungle. At your choesen point, and make a u-turn to climb again. Repeat as necessary until you have the vEverest feet required. I would like to know your experience once you have… Read more »
