Animated “Lutscher” Route Details (Innsbruck) Map
Animated map provided by ZwiftHacks

Innsbruck’s “Lutscher” (German for lollipop) is a lollipop route, meaning you have a lead in then one or more circuits to ride. The route begins at the start/finish banner then places you on the KOM loop for as many laps as you can handle. With Innsbruck’s steep climbs this means you can pack in a lot of climbing if you wish!

Route Description

Route profile by ZwiftHub – the place to plan and track your route achievements!

Both Lutscher routes (Lutscher and Lutscher CCW) officially begin when you ride through the KOM banner for the first time. This means the lead-in (when free riding or in an event) includes climbing up to the banner! (Meetups begin atop the KOM, so they give you a head start compared to free riding and events.)

Your first lap of the route is completed (and you will receive your badge) after you cross the KOM banner for the second time.

Hi Eric,

as always, thank you for providing this website, it is a great help.

For this course, the numbers seem to be mixed up a little:

For the loop itself, the elevation gain is 403m, the other 425 are for the lead in, so you are showing the total here.

The lead in distance (at least for me was 9 km, mit 10,9, so the total distance is 22,7 km.

Best,

Stefan

Exactly…it starts at the end of the KOM hill, 1 km before the Banner. This changes thos numbers significantly…

Hi Eric,

little side note: “Lutscher” does not only mean “lollipop” in German. It also means “sucker”, especially in the cycling context of “sucking wheel”.

If you do Lutscher then u turn and do the course CCW, you don’t get the CCW badge

If you use a meetup, the starting point will be just before the descent: you pass the banner, go down, go up and get awarded the badge when you cross the banner again, with just about 14.8 km and 400m of elevation (i.e. you do not need to do the ascent twice!) This makes justice of the very few point XP points you get and it’s perfectly legit. Once you are at the top, you can launch another meetup for the reverse badge. That way with two ascents (one CCW and one CW) you get TWO badges.

Darn, too bad I did them the hard way! Gotta be the toughest lead-ins of all routes on these two!

Aha so that explains why my efforts during a meetup for Lutscher and Lutscher CCW do not show up on the Strava (Zwift insider verified) segments yet I still earned a Zwift achievement badge for each. I went back and completed Lutscher in non-meetup mode and Strava recognized my effort. But in meetup mode…nada. Guess I will need to do a non-meetup ride for Lutscher CCW also. Does anyone know if there are any other courses where a meetup will nullify the segment?
