Watopia’s “Jungle Circuit” was added with the Mayan jungle expansion in late October 2017. This is a lollipop route, meaning you start with a lead-in then remain on the circuit portion until your legs fall off.

If you choose this route for a free ride or workout you will spawn on the road to the Mayan jungle, several hundred meters before the jungle start pens. Ride into the circuit portion, then remain on the circuit for the rest of your ride.

Event riders begin at the Jungle start pens, giving you a short lead-in down to the bottom of the jungle before starting the first circuit lap. (See Strava lead-in segments below.)

    Route Description

Route profile by ZwiftHub – the place to plan and track your route achievements!

The jungle loop itself is almost 8km in length. In the forward direction, you roll through the lap banner at the loop’s lowest elevation, then ride a gradual climb (~3%) to cross the dizzying heights of the rope bridge. Soon enough you are zipping downhill to the bottom of the valley for another lap.

The entire circuit is dirt, and while this was only a visual change when the Jungle was first released, Zwift modified the rolling resistance of dirt in October 2019. Now, different bike wheels perform differently in the Jungle, making your wheel choice especially strategic when racing!

This is a great route. Lots of things to see and fun challenges around every corner. The suspended bridge is awesome. But before you ride it, change your wheels or your bike or both. It is crazy to go down a hill at only 15 or 17 kph because you have the wrong wheels. Thank you Zwift for dialing in the right amount of difficulty depending on road surface. 👍

great route. Loads to see. the distance is a bit misleading though. I thought an 8km run would be great, I just didn’t realise that I had a 5.5km run to get to the start line!

If I’m not mistaken, there’s a counter on this circuit, like on the Volcano one. So I started wondering if there wouldn’t be a, or plus, hidden badge here.
Has anyone tried to ride it 5/10/15 times, just to see what happenss ?

Does anybody know if the drafting effect is the same for road, gravel or mountain bikes so if you are in the middle of a group of say 10 riders is the w/kg advantage the same for each type?

Enjoyed. I am trying to get all the badges. Long lead in though 🙂 I only learnt about lead ins yesterday so having to redo the routes. I went through the temples the other day so this was similar but bypassed it.. Lot of dirt in my face though. I had a right mouthful of muck when a rider kept at front of me. Nice to be in a covid free world though

Does the event version of the route include the lead in?

Change the distance. It’s a 14kms circuit (Jungle Circuit) including à 7,9kms loop (Jungle Loop). You make me confused…

But the loop itself, which starts on the opposite side (not at the fork). The lead-in doesn’t count towards the badge.
So technically, you could go ride AdZ, then do the loop without doing the lead-in.
