There are currently 124 routes on Zwift that award a route completion badge. A few of these are event-only routes, but the vast majority are free ridable.
We had many requests for a more printable version of our Master Routes List, specifically for riders looking to get all the route badges. So we created a printable list of badge routes, sorted by difficulty.
Routes are organized into 5 groups based on difficulty described as the number of water bottles (bidons) you may need to finish the route. We’ve also created a 6th group for the event-only routes which award route badges:
- 1 Bidon: 60 routes
- 2 Bidon: 32 routes
- 3 Bidon: 16 routes
- 4 Bidon: 9 routes
- 5+ Bidons: 5 routes
- Event-Only Badges: 2 routes

Post below!
Really nice. I have used your January version to checkmark completed routes.
But could be great if you could do a version sorted after world and then difficulty within each world 🙂
Wahooo! Thank you for updating!
Great Eric, thanks, I’m trying to motivate my non-zwifting cycling buddies, this updated list helps a lot, I can present them a huge challenge!!!
you included the lead in this time and thats fantastic!
it also highlights how broken the routes are. 10k in NY for a 10.5k route!?!
Thanks Eric!
Been waiting on this, thanks so much!!
Hi, can you also make available a .csv or xls version of this if possible? 🙂
No Cut and Paste skills? Cmon now.
Pasting as such, pasting as HTML, pasting as Unicode, pasting as text tried… in a line, tabs won’t be included and all line information goes into one excel cell. Please tell me how did you do it?
Eric it works fine computer issue!! sorry about the comment, i was just to fast!!!
Fixed!
You know, after giving it a bit of thought, I agree. I moved it to 4 bidon. It actually has a higher VVOM (Veloviewer difficulty rating) then The Pretzel, but if you’re looking at it in terms of time to complete (which I think should be the main metric) it’s significantly shorter than The Pretzel.
Thanks Eric! Any chance of Couch to Route Hero: Ride All Zwift Routes in XX weeks?
this is outstanding work
Woo hoo!
This is brilliant! Saved me so much time – many thanks, Eric :-)Rov
Yes, you can.
Stupid question….Bidon??
That’s a water bottle.
GREAT Stuff Eric. Thank You so much, and for your site actually!
Dumb question probably… Whate is the Lead-In for ?
The lead-in is just a section of road you have to ride in order to get to some routes, before the official route begins. It’s necessitated by the layout of the roads, intersections, and start pens.
Is the Lead-In miles calculated into the total length? For example, on the Tick Tock route, the Length is 10.4 miles; the Lead-In is 1.5 miles. Is the 1.5 miles included in the 10.4 miles? ALSO, I didn’t get a big, noticable “route complete” notification when I reached the end. I kept pedaling until I covered 15 miles.
No. There are two lengths stated: “Length” and “Lead-In”. Your “total length” would be lead-in + length.
Thanks! Super helpful for planning meetups and jump starting new riders with getting XP points.
I find your Bidon ratings largely more helpful/accurate than XP, especially for the Lutschers, Ven-Top, and Road to Sky. Though I am not sure Out and Back again shouldn’t be a 2 Bidon ride.
The printable list is awesome. It is a great way to keep track of what I have done and it is a great motivation to ride others. Thank you
Thank you so much for this Eric. Checking off all the routes is giving me something to work towards that is fun and my levels are increasing with all the XP points I am gaining! Zwift just launched some new routes this week. Do you think you could update the list when you get a chance please?
Already updated, at the link above!
This is really great— thanks! Is there a way to see which routes you’ve already done? I’m new to Zwift, & for the first few weeks I was on Zwift I wasn’t keeping track!
Have the brand new Watopia Routes been added?
Yep!
See the note at the top of the article.
Is there a way to see the badges earned without having to be in game? It would be much easier to inventory if there is…let me know..be safe…
Well that’s not very nice.
If you want to sort a list by other factors, you can do so here: https://zwiftinsider.com/routes
Hi Eric,
Thank you for all your efforts.
Would you perhaps have this available in Excel format?
Is there a reason that some of the routes that have a lead in (Classique for example) didn’t have a lead in today (16 Apr 21) Only as I was planning a short 10 KM ish ride which turned into only 5.5km and i had to do another route to make up the distance
Queens highway has an incorrect elevation listed. It looks like you have the elevation in feet under the meters column.
would be great if zwift would tell you in the maps screen what ones you have completed and which ones you have haven’t
Great work on the list. Really helped to keep me motivated.
Will this list be updated with the new Makuri Islands routes?
Thank you.
thank you so much for the update!!
Ah. No badge. Still not an official route – even though the D. Diesel rides it!
Already done!
I’m a newbie so I followed this list and chose one of the top 5 easiest routes. If 20 mins of 6-12% climb is one of the easiest routes here, I’m properly screwed. Lol.
Totally agree, can’t beat ticking off each one with a highlighter pen ✔️🤓
New Neokyo routes have now been added to the list!
I think you still have the old list linked above…I’m not seeing the Neokyo routes on there.
fixed
Still can’t see the Neokyo Routes on the PDF from the download link above
Could you please check that
They are there. Listed as Makuri Islands routes. The list has a revision date of 29th Nov at the bottom of the pdf.
Thanks!
Thanks for your efforts!! Most of my rides are free rides, and the route information comes in very handy.
Eric, I don’t see the Neokyo Crit Course on your list.
That’s because it’s not a free-ridable route. But it DOES have a route badge associated with it, so… well, I’m not sure what to do with it.
Just added it today.
Has anyone ever gone through and added up the mileage for the badge routes (and their lead-ins)?
Thank you Eric!! I needed an update to this list!
Every time I start the zwift main app. (Orange color), the next page is blue as the companion app which makes me think I press the companion app by mistake.
I have ridden all of the 100 free rideable routes and compared my post ride reported distance and elevation gain to that listed on the route selection screen in the game. I have found that distances and elevations match very closely except for London where my actual ride elevation gains are about 15% less than on the route selection screen, any ideas what is going on?
Eric:
Have you added the 2 new Watopia routes with badges from December yet?
Done!
Awesome! Thank you for doing this list. I am new to Zwift and this is so helpful!
Those five routes are all part of the ongoing Tour of Watopia – stages 1, 2, 3, 5, and 4 in the order you listed. Click to each stage to find the upcoming schedule: https://www.zwift.com/tour-of-watopia/ride.
Thank you
This is great! Thanks again and appreciate the updates!
Done!
