One of five routes rolled out with Zwift’s Titans Grove expansion, “Big Foot Hills” takes you on a meandering journey over the lower peaks of Watopia, including Titans Grove in both directions.
This longer route is perfect for a ~2-hour free ride and includes 5 different KOM sections of short to medium length. A nice choice if you want to do some VO2 max hill training!

While this route has a fair amount of climbing, none of the climbs are long or steep enough for a lightweight bike to give you a faster climb time. So aero rules the day. Get the most slippery frame and wheels you can afford!

Route Description

Route profile by ZwiftHub – the place to plan and track your route achievements!
Begin just before the Fuego Flats start pen and hit the flat, fast desert roads to start. This is as flat as your journey will get! You’ll hang a right into Titans Grove (forward direction) after leaving Saddle Springs, ride through Titans Grove, then turn left to head toward downtown Watopia.
At the intersection near downtown, turn left to head up the original Watopia KOM, then descend down and turn left onto the gravel at the Italian Villas toward the volcano.
At the volcano, you’ll take the first right for a CCW circuit around (and through) our favorite magmatic mountain. But before you complete a full circuit you will turn left to head up the Volcano KOM–the largest climb on the route.
Once you’ve finished that climb, zip down the volcano and ride to downtown Watopia, through the main start/finish banner and back out toward Fuego Flats. But before you hit our original starting point you’ll hang a right into Titans Grove, covering that road in the reverse direction.
After Titans Grove turn right to get onto Ocean Boulevard, through the fishing village, and onto the original KOM in the reverse direction. After descending from the KOM turn right onto Ocean Boulevard, then a quick left toward Fuego Flats to finish near the same place you began.
Did this route this morning but didn’t get the 1340XP
Any ideas anyone?
You should get the XP as you go along the route. Every KM or Mile gets you another 20 or 30 XP (depending on which unit of measure you use). It doesn’t all come to you at the end in one go. Also, if you’ve done it before then you dont get it again. Hope that helps
Check your route badges–if you’ve previously completed it, you’ve already received the one-time bonus 1340 XP. If you show it open, then you probably didn’t actually finish it. This route has a bit of lead-in distance which isn’t reflected in the route distance. Annoying, but the rule of thumb is don’t ever assume you’re “done” at a particular distance. You’re “done” when passing whatever formal banner or arch designates the end of route. My personal most-hated are a couple routes in NY, London and Innsbruck where you have to ride a decent distance AND climb a significant hill just to… Read more »
If you have completed a route badge you get the 1340xp on top of the km xp
I have to say I was extremely impressed to find the ride today was extremely enjoyable I watch my Cadence and my heart rate instead of watching the incline. The only time I push my heart rate was to set a new PR on the time trial. I fell as good at the end of the ride as the beginning. I would like to figure out how to add more power at the higher Cadence I I haven’t figured that out yet. I have learned a lot which I intend to use in my future rides to get better. The… Read more »
I just did the full route this evening and I got the badge after 70.1km and 714 meters of elevation gain.
Same – you need to pass the Fuego Flats KOM again and then you get the badge at 70.1km.
Please tell me there’s a Bigfoot roaming this course somewhere! If not, please add them!!
