Introduced in Zwift’s December 2020 update, Two Bridges Loop is the first route to use the new KOM Bypass – a short stretch of road which connects the Hilly KOM forward with the Hilly KOM reverse approximately halfway up each climb, effectively shortcutting both KOM segments. This route is simply an abbreviated version of the event-only Hilly Route Reverse, since we remove 2.1km of road and 20m of elevation gain by taking the KOM bypass.

Route Description

Route profile by ZwiftHub – the place to plan and track your route achievements!
We begin in downtown Watopia, traveling toward the Volcano. After a short ramp-up we’re in the Esses, twisting and rolling our way to a descent which drops us into the reverse sprint over the JWB bridge. Recover a bit post-sprint as you hit the cobbles of the Italian Villas, then bump up those watts on the uphill rollers past the waterfall. Cross the 360 bridge and pass Hank’s gas station before we start the KOM reverse climb past the giant statues. This is the most significant climb of the route. We won’t be finishing the official KOM reverse, though – only taking on the steepest part before we hang a left onto the new KOM bypass. This short (~200 meters) bit of road connects the midpoint of the reverse KOM with the midpoint of the forward KOM. It’s slightly downhill in this direction, which means we’ll get spit out quickly onto the downhill of the forward KOM. Be ready to go fast!
Keep that momentum high and you’ll find yourself back in downtown Watopia before you realize it. Time to sprint for the line… or take on another lap?
Any idea where these New routes will start and finish for the veloviewer leaderboard? You seem to start wrong side of the banner when free riding. Really enjoyed this route.
I’ll get them added this week!
A few weeks ago I did the Two Bridges Loop course via the routes in Zwift and got the badge but it’s still not getting picked up by Strava. I repeated it today and still no badge. Any idea if you need to do something special for the segment to get picked up?
Yes – you have to start your ride by flipping a u-turn, riding through the start/finish banner, then flipping a u-turn and starting your ride.
This is what you’ll have to do until Zwift adjusts the start points of these new routes.
Changing the Strava definition would be quicker.
A race course with just the”upper plateau” would be Fun up the KOM, down, bypass and up again (a Watopia version of the 6 train in NYC)
For sure! With an uphill finish at the KOM banner!
Either direction would be hard as not alot of flat riding or recovery time so always on the power.
And a 5-loop and 25-loop Badge for crazy people?
If you come out of the italian village towards the sprint and directly turn right youll get a 1.9 km circuit. this will gif you 10xp every round when using a tt bike.😀
Another route is the start at downtown into Essses, JWB bridge, connector, 360 bridge, steep part of rev. hill clmib, connector, back down into downtown for finish or more laps. Another small circuit/longish crit course.
I’d like to see some Crit races around the part of the course that is cut off with this new route, effectively looping around the top of the KOM forward/reverse and using the new cut-through!
Oh, exactly what Mat says below… but yes I agree!
Interestingly, yesterday I did this and the Beach Loop (as well as the other two new ones), and for both of these I started west of where the segment starts (right under the small islands).
So needless to say, I will have to do both of these over again
Distance remaining wrong at the end of my recent race on this course. Not sure if it is event or course related, but watch out if you are racing on this loop.
I am not the fittest in the world, but I love this route when I haven’t got a lot of time. Really enjoy the undulations and variety of views too.
Add another one to the list of segment fails. Better to change the name of the route to alert people. I had Zwift completion of the route but no segment credit.
