Route Description

Route profile by ZwiftHub – the place to plan and track your route achievements!
We begin with a short, flat lead-in to the route’s biggest climb: the Epic KOM. At 9.4km long and 3.9% average grade, this climb will split any race apart.
Enjoy the descent after the KOM banner–it’s a great time to supertuck. Then hang a left toward the Jungle Circuit. Savvy racers might consider swapping bikes once they hit the dirt since a mountain bike is much faster than a road bike on the Jungle Circuit. But you’ll want to practice that swapping, because you’ll need to change back to the road bike after the loop through the Jungle, and those are precious seconds lost as you fumble to change bikes!
After climbing out of the Jungle you’ll descend towards Watopia, going through the fishing village then Italian Villas before heading around the volcano and into downtown Watopia for the finish.
Sure enjoy the convenience of checking into facts and figures on the Insider page! Thanks Eric…
Hi, I think that the velo viewer map is wrong. It includes the sandy segment before 14km which isn’t on the big loop.
Shame! I love checking the data during a ride!
Did the course yesterday. It showed “route completed” and I got the badge, but when I looked on Zwift I have not gotten it. The same has happened with “the highline” twice. Very frustrating.
Me too.
As per Beth’s comment below, the veloviewer data is for Bigger Loop, not big loop
Completed this route yesterday and no badge, very frustrating. I can see this has happened to others as well but still nothing seems to be done about it.
I rode the big loop too and thought I went far enough. I was 4 miles short and I couldn’t find anything about how far pass the ride you had to go. It was actually 32.33 + miles. Grrr. I tried to find out if I just missed it or what. So frustrating!
I got confused when I came back to the jungle route and there was no volcano. and I was pass the mileage stated for the route.
Great job with this site.
Only one correction. Both maps here are incorrect. Got a surprise yesterday doing it because you have to do the antennas after the epic kom
Big loop is wrong the finish is not at 42.6 km but ??? it goes again up hill epic kom.
Please check the data.
Can we get a ZwiftInsider Strava segment for Big Loop events? For example Tour of Watopia Stage 4 Longer is Big Loop but there is no segment for it as it has a different start location
Done! https://www.strava.com/segments/28020521?filter=overall
Thank you Eric
For some reason, the altitude profile on the Big Loop Strava segment is all over the place. For example, the pier start is at 200m.
as mentioned these maps show tempis flats on this route but “Big Loop” goes straight from the downtown start to the KOM
I have the route achievement badge for this one in zwift but no segment time in the route hunter does zwift insider segment match the route or is there some manual navigation required overlap of spawn points or different finish? Nov 2018
any chance the VeloViewer big loop segment can be looked at? Whenever I ride this on Zwift I get the Big loop from banner segment but can never get the big loop (Zwift insider) one. Very frustrating
Way too much dirt on this one!
