Route Description
When free riding, you’ll begin just before the Acropolis Sprint banner. Events, on the other hand, have a ~3km lead-in from the southern coast start pens.
Ride along the southern coast, hitting the Stoneway Sprint, then continue on up to the Jungle Circuit. You’ll travel clockwise, but take the Mayan Bridge cutoff road to shorten the circuit. The climb up from the bridge is the first key selection point in a race event, so mind your pack position and keep your eyes open!
Turn off the Mayan Bridge cutoff, descend back toward a left onto the southern coast road, then hang another left to begin the key climb section of this route. First the Mayan Mountainside KOM, followed quickly by the Itza KOM. That’s ~6km of solid climbing, so this is where the elastic will truly stretch and snap in races!
Over the top of the Itza KOM, turn right to descend the straight, steep bottom of The Grade then turn right to head toward the Acropolis Sprint. The final 3km of this route is flat and fast.
