BRAEk-fast Crits and Grits

Designed by Zwifter “JackCat” from team OTR, this route is the first ever added to the game as a result of a route design contest. (The contest was held to determine the final race route for Round 1 of ZRL’s 2024/25 season.)

BRAEk-fast Crits & Grits gets its name from a signature feature: 3 full laps of the Breakaway Brae loop (aka “Nessie’s Loop“). The route also starts and finishes up the Sgurr Summit South climb, which is sure to force key selections in any race.

City and the Sgurr

Races here will be interesting, since one side of the Sgurr is gravel, while the other is paved.

Glasgow Crit Circuit

This punchy circuit takes you on streets with sights inspired by the city of Glasgow, host of the finishing circuit for the 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships. If you’ve ridden in real-world Glasgow these challenging ramps should feel familiar!

Glasgow Crit Six

Released in November 2025 to support Zwift Camp: Build, this route is simply six laps of the well-known Glasgow Crit Circuit.

(Why create this route instead of setting up a multi-lap event on Glasgow Crit Circuit? Because Zwift Camp: Build is a series of route-based workouts, and in order for Zwift to script such an event in their system, the full event must be contained in a single route.)

Originally shared as a Rebel Route in May 2023, “Outer Scotland” covers Scotland’s outermost roads in a clockwise direction, starting and ending in Glasgow at the Champion’s Sprint arch. It was officially added to the game as a featured route for Tour de Zwift 2025.

This rolling figure-8 route is rarely flat, but always scenic! It covers the same roads as Loch Loop, but a little extra stretch of tarmac through the Loch near Breakaway Brae.

This simple route is basically a reverse of Loch Loop, with an additional lead-in from the Glasgow start pens.

Looking to cover all the roads in Zwift’s Scotland? The Muckle Yin (Scottish for “Big One”) is the longest route in Scotland, taking you around the Highlands loop, over the Sgurr in both directions, and onto the streets of Glasgow.
