Before any non-Scots ask…’The Muckle Yin’ translates as ‘The Large One’. You’re welcome!

and ‘Sgurr’ is a pointy peak on top of a mountain; pronounced ‘skoor’.

That’s a defunct language virtually nobody in Scotland speaks but has been politically hijacked recently by the nationalists.

How come “Ride Scotland” (with jersey unlock) has left out Muckle Yin and Loch Loop? 🤔 @ericschlange

Thanks @EricSchlange At least one lucky Club/Group (Pan-Mass) already had a ride yesterday 😊 I’ll keep my eyes laser focused for any others

Looks great! A bit underwhelming when the Muckle Yin just duplicates the relatively small 27km-ish roads available. Perhaps a large climber on the surrounding Munro’s or an underground mine course. There are a couple holes in the ground on the map with what appears to be a road between them…..

Just did one of the Ride Scotland events, looked at my ride on Strava and thought “I wonder what random Pacific island they’ve set this new map on.” Zoomed out a bit, thought “those contours look oddly familiar”, zoomed out a bit more and realised they’ve not only decided to set it in Scotland, it’s in the middle of the island I live on 😀

“I can’t ride these 5 new routes when I want, therefore I will cancel and not be able to ride any routes at all at any time.” Seems logical.

Oh the world revolves around you does it ? So they should ensure extra staff are on hand to make sure your running of the course is smooth , despite not being on schedule to be ridden . Expect this route to be on general release after the real event

Good luck ! Enjoy either alternatives . Wouldn’t be surprised if you don’t cancel after all , least not for the reasons stated
