“Rainbow” Jersey Unlock
Zwift has created a “UCI rainbow-stripes-inspired in-game kit” which can be unlocked by finishing all five stages of this “Race the Worlds” Zwift Racing Series.

You can also unlock the same kit by riding all four stages of the Zwift Ride Series “Podium Rides.”.
Racing Score
Zwift recently rolled out their Racing Score metric. At this time, the only scored races on Zwift are these ZRacing events.
Series Structure
The ZRacing series consists of monthly sets of weekly races. Each race is scheduled for seven days (beginning 1:10am UTC on Monday and running through to the next Sunday). Timeslots are consistent week to week and month to month.
Races are scheduled ~15 times each day, so there are plenty of available times to find a race.
See upcoming events at zwift.com/events/tag/zracingaug2023
Monthly GC on ZwiftPower
Each monthly set of races has a time-based GC (general classification) tracking riders’ best finishing times for each week’s race. The overall winners in each category for the month will be the riders with the lowest overall time for that month’s set of races.
See August’s GC on ZwiftPower >
With over 100 weekly timeslots available, riders can race each week’s event multiple times and try to better their finishing time. Tip: the fastest times usually come from the largest race fields!
Note: you must use a heart rate monitor and be on a smart trainer, smart bike, or power meter to show up in ZwiftPower results for this series.
If you aren’t signed up for ZwiftPower, check out our post How to Sign Up for ZwiftPower (and Why Every Zwifter Should Do It).

Get the Badge
Each month’s series has a unique achievement badge, which you can unlock by finishing every stage for the month. There are no makeup events, so if you miss a stage, you miss out!
One and Done
Zwift has planned these events to deliver a solid 1-hour workout, so each race should only take around 1 hour to complete, including your warmup and cooldown.
Past Rounds
August is the 12th round of the ZRacing series, which began in September 2022 with Get Rolling. This was followed by October’s Race Like a Champ, November’s Race Makuri, and December’s Race Like a Pro.
For 2023 we’ve had January’s Flat is Fast, February’s Race Scotland, March’s Race London, April’s Cobble Crusher, May’s Crit Club, June’s OG Racing, and July’s Beach Party.

ok
The “Rainbow” jersey looks like one of the IRL jerseys created for the Super Worlds – https://www.santinicycling.com/en/2023-uci-cycling-world-championships-1141
Thx for the hint Richy ! The dark blue kit looks much more beautiful than the chosen one from ZHQ … but hey, rainbow-stripes are iconic
Your “Muckle Yin” link is broken, just FYI
Does this use of a UCI ‘rainbow-stripes’ (inspired) jersey on Zwift sit well with everybody?
I’m not sure it does with me!
It’s not like it looks like a World Champs kit. This is the jersey:
Looks Blue/Black/Red/Yellow/Green (vs. Blue/Red/Black/Yellow/Green of the explicitly protected mark)?
Barring the order of those two stripes, it’s the bands worn by former world champions, right?
Not sure I care much to be honest. I also wonder a bit about the judgement used, whether or not it’s technically ‘ok’.

(Piping on bib shorts seems to be only allowed for current world champion, for example)
Instinctively, it strikes me as not as respectful as it ought to be, but if everyone’s OK with it, and the UCI doesn’t mind, neither do I.
See my comment above. It’s an in-game replica of official 2023 Worlds merch, which presumably was created with the involvement of the UCI?
The new photo Eric added shows a UCI logo, so I guess they think it’s OK, and if it’s OK with them, fair enough.
Cool jersey but don’t think I’ll be wearing the bands, but then again I wouldn’t on a group ride IRL either.
The UCI races are just along the road from me in Glentress but the ticket prices are way too expensive. Think I’ll enjoy the event on Zwift instead!
Tickets? In Richmond 2015, I just towed my kids around in the bike trailer and watched from several spots. Maybe we had smaller crowds, so nobody thought to sell tickets.
You were lucky and sounds like a fab experience for you and the kids. I don’t know about Glasgow but over here in Glentress where the MTB races are being held, it’s all ticketed.
Road races are free to attend, and have been in my calendar for months! Cannot wait 😁
Almost all of the other disciplines are ticketed, though (there’s definitely some free BMX events). I assume it’s consistent with past Worlds for each discipline
I’d participate in more of these if the scoring on Zpower was clearer. Lowest cumulative time makes sense, but once they convert it to crazy points values on Zpower it becomes impossible to follow, and in my opinion hard to get excited about.
The ZRacing series doesn’t use points in any way, so I’m not sure what you’re referring to? The overall monthly series is a time-based GC.
Unfortunately for me, I typically race in time slots with the smallest fields (and thus slower speeds and times)…so good GC placements are tough to come by.
I’m referring to these points (attached screenshot). Obviously I can see the position (1st, 2nd, 3rd) everyone ends up in, but if it’s time-based, where’s the “time” column on ZwiftPower? How can I see what time I got for each event or cumulatively? Since we can re-race each event and improve our time, where’s the time I got for each one? What does that equate to in “Points” or position in the standings? What are “Points” if it’s not a points competition? What does the % column mean (99.74%, 99.73%) and why is it shown? It’s not clear to me… Read more »
Those points are fractions of a second. I think it’s hundredths. So if you divide by 100 (or maybe 1000), that’s the number of seconds it took you to complete the course. As the series continues, your points will be added up until the person with the lowest number of points (fastest cumulative time over the series) is the winner.
Thanks Paul! Very helpful!
I also don’t understand why each event links to the hard to understand, hard to filter by category page, as opposed to the lovely one that you (and only you?) link to every month.
We already raced all these when the map was debuted earlier in the year. I’d prefer they also sprinkle in the other Worlds courses for some variety.
Stage 1 on Rolling Highlands… that course is 9k, but the race is 14k and says only 1 lap. Any idea what the additional 5k is?
That’s the 5.1km lead in.
Are there any makeups for this series? Just missed the first week!
Nope. That question gets asked every month, and the answer’s always “no”. 😁
Been gone three years for seven hip surgeries so I get one repeated noob question
Welcome back, Brad!
Thanks for answering it despite the repetition! 🙂
I did race 4 today and although I completed it and it is on my activities on the companion app it hasn’t registered towards the race the world world badge. It still says I’ve completed 60% when it should be 80%. How do I get this updated or will I have to do it again?
You should reach out to Zwift support… they should be able to get it fixed for ya.
I have missed to join stage1-3.
It is necessary to complete all stages to get rainbow jersey.
Is there chances to try past stage?
I’m a larger rider in C, 103kg and always get dropped on the Sgurr so since we’re doing it 4 times(2 x each side) in Stage 5 I’ll be on my own for a lot after we get to the climbs. I’m thinking of a gravel bike which should speed me up on the gravel side but will the gain offset the loss on the decent/ ascent on the tarmac side. Comments on the course notes point to a yes?
I’d go gravel, yeah.
And you get to climb it FIVE times. 😜
Five!!!! 😁I was leaning Gravel and that’s confirmed it for me. Thanks Eric, long time lurker first time poster, appreciate your work 😀
