Zwift Climb Portal Schedule

Zwift’s Climb Portal gives Zwifters access to a growing library of famous real-life climbs in a gamified environment where roads are colored based on gradient. Learn more about the Climb Portal >

While the library of climbs continues to grow, only up to three climbs are accessible on any given day. The climb of the month (in green below) is available in France, while a second climb rotates every few days and is only available in Watopia. Both of these climbs can be selected at the bottom left of your Zwift homescreen (scroll down).

There is also a third place where another climb is featured: in the Climb of the Week box on the homescreen. Learn more >

Been waiting for the better part of a year for zwift to schedule stelvio. Decided to ride Stelvio Pass on Rouvy – outstanding graphics and realism!

Maybe 2025 stelvio will finally be put on zwift’s schedule?

In the meantime, I’m checking out the other 50 routes in italy alone on rouvy.

And…….. still no Stelvio – I held out some hope that it would pop up in June (when May is the main Giro month), but alas, no. Rouvy it is.

I don’t get why they teased it for years and then didn’t do it. I’ve done every climb on every gradient option and this June is just a wasted month of the portal calendar. It’s almost like Zwift’s developers are riding outside for the summer and didn’t think anyone would want new content over the northern hemisphere summer . . .

It was never working correctly from the original design. Why make ten other climbs when you could just renew the Stelvio and live up to a promise?

I’ve ridden it and it is a long horrid climb. But, yes, in that regard it is great. I’m constantly requesting this from the team.

I’d like a list of all the climbs and completion markers like there is for the routes list.

I made my own dashboard with all Route Badges and Climb Portal completions (4 levels). Pretty neat and very motivating.

Hey, i really love the Climb portal but for January, most of the days, you only get to choose between two short and « easy » climbs. Is there any way we could ride longer climbs ?

Has anyone noticed that individual PR times on each of the climbs have been wiped clean for the new year, but it only shows the blue “completed” bar with each gradient level? I am now really glad I made a spreadsheet for each of the portal climbs with my PR on each. I did Willunga on January 1 and had to use my personal spreadsheet to see that I’d finished 7 seconds slower than my PR.

It can be due to the start world changing so it is like two different segments depend whether it is France or watopia. I also track mine in a spreadsheet

The big rides, such as Tourmalet & Mt Fuji, whilst perfect for the weekend rides when it’s icy outside, always / recently seem to be on weekdays….who has the time on a workday? Please add some biggies to the weekend, at least in the winter! Thanks!

February brought back Isola 2000 for two days. Better than nothing, but if they’re still not releasing the Stelvio, I don’t see why they couldn’t leave this other super long climb on for at least three to five days.

Why has Mt Fuji only got 4 total days in the first 3 months? None of which are in March. It’s the only one I really want to do and was unavailable to ride during those 4 days.

Why don’t you add some serious italian climb ? Up to now I have only seen Poggio and Cipressa, which are quite soft and only become a bit challenging because they are faced after about 250 kms in the Milano-San Remo. There are a lot of hard climbs, like Mortirolo, Zoncolan, Stelvio, Gavia, Pordoi, Sella, to name just a few.

From Climbfinder, it looks like Cauberg is 1.2km in length, 69m of elevation and an average gradient of 5.8%. Redoute is 2.0km in length, 180m of elevation and an average gradient of 8.8%. So two more short climbs. YMMV

Boring selection for April, Poggio was already up for a week during March. Not a lot of variation this month.

Nessarose

I am also frustrated with the lack of variety lately. 1 mile climb for a week and France climb 30 days of the same old thing. March had a similar situation. I’d love a second option when they tie up the portal for extended times with event climbs. Like continue the rotation as a second choice for those of us who live in the portal.

Dear Eric,

Can you explain the change from the original schedule that had Cauvery for an entire week. I went to ride it and found only Cheddar Gorge and Poggio.
I was very disappointed as i had relied on the Master schedule you routinely publish. I’ve ridden all the climbs and now will be one time climb short. So sad.

For the May 2025 schedule, I noticed that Old Wilunga Hill is on both in Watopia and France on 21-22 MAY. Is that a mistake on Zwift’s part, or a placeholder for a yet-unreleased climb?

This is two years now of expecting that Zwift will release the Stelvio as a climb on the Climb Portal during the Giro d’Italia, and two years of disappointment. Is the Stelvio destined to be the Godot of the climb portal universe?

Marcel

Hmmm 4 climbs at 50% with zero 250xp drops. Chance of that happening is 1.5%. Starting to wonder whether drop odds changes have silently been put in place following the Cauberg XP mine thing (especially with a short climb as monthly now)

Marcel

Me and my big mouth 😀 Next 2 climbs (runs 2 and 3 of Kwaremont in this session) 3 x 250xp. So maybe no change, maybe chance of 250xp increases as ride distance gets longer?

I’ve officially been paranoid. 2nd gate of the next run another 250xp. Just goes to show you that even when a chance is 1.5% it can still happen.

The portals should be in the listed like the routes in the Zwift app when we’re going to ride
And we should be able to see or know which ones we already made it and in which difficulty
So we can finish all of them with the time

Patrick
Patrick

@Eric Schlange After completing a climb at 100% difficulty, Zwift won’t let you ride the heroic level unless you quit an start a new ride. Not a big deal, but a bit annoying if you’re trying to knock out multiple difficulties of a shorter climb in the same ride.

Why can’t we have climbs “on demand”, just like adding routes to a shortlist so we can ride those even when those worlds/portals are not active?

So are Mur de Bretagne and Old Willunga I’ll classed as 2 separate climbs for the overall award? Climb Portal was advertised as Willunga but looks like those who rode it got the MdB badge…

For some climbs, 2 days is more than enough to complete all 4 difficulties. But 2 days is not enough time to complete all 4 difficulties on some others, particularly if it’s mid-week and I need to fit it around work. And then I need to wait 3 months for it to come back round.

A whole month for a single climb is way too long too.

I think long climbs that rotate every 4 days on one portal, and short climbs on 2-day rotations on the other.

Even if you miss one, it will be less time to wait for it to come back.

Jeff
Jeff

I’ve just waited 4 months since mid January for Gotthard to appear again which I missed due to illness. Finally completed all 41 at 100% but there are 4 not yet rota’d. June’s list looks the most uninspiring rota so far, nothing new and looks like Zwift have run out of ideas. Portal climb needs a rethink and not just by allowing meet ups etc.

June has been terrible. Redoubt on France all month is boring. I really wish they maybe rotated two choices at a go, for 2-3 days, one easier and one harder.

On the schedule for June 2025. The links for Platzerwasel don’t work. The Platzerwasel page ca be reached from the main climb portal page though. At a quick glance, I think it’s because the link on the schedual uses ‘col-de’ instead of ‘col-du’

Should Stelvio be de-listed as a climb portal climb? It’s never been open to the public and per a Strava conversation I had with the one person who has done it as a test, it’s still not “approved” for open usage, so unlikely to be a climb anytime soon (particularly with Giro now behind us…)

So, I turned the corner in Watopia to get to the climb portal. Expecting either Col du Rosier or Cauberg (around 7am UK time, so wasn’t sure if that’s before or after the cut-off, but either climb would’ve been fine). Imagine my shock when I saw “Hardknott Pass”. Is the schedule incorrect for June?

Marcel

Reply to  Dave K

Probably why it was changed : it’s too easy an XP farm. They’ll say it’s due to people complaining they can’t save their ride when it’s under 2km, but surely people will be smart enough to know this and with the lead-in+climb+descent+turn around at the top you’re at 2.7km even with the short lead-in at Watopia.

I’m guessing it’s mostly level 100 riders complaining because it makes their level 100 club “less exclusive”

The current month-long Portal Climb is an absurdly easy XP farm compared to just riding around. Cauberg would have just made it a little easier, though limited to 48 hours.

Larry

Cauberg was there for me, including unlock for 2nd ride at 125%. May have been due to outdated cache in Apple TV (restarting Apple resolves this, which I chose not to do). Upload to Strava did not include the Cauberg name in the activity title, however.
