All About Zwift’s Yorkshire World Championships Week Races

Next week the UCI 2019 Road World Championships are happening in Yorkshire, and Zwift has gone all-in as an official partner of the event. They created a replica of the Harrogate finishing circuit, set up an alehouse on course, and have now rolled out a week-long schedule of Zwift races.

Each race happens on only one day, but there are 12 time slots to join, so everyone should be able to find a time that fits their schedule.

    Kit Unlock

Complete any of the race events below to unlock an in-game UCI Fan kit.

    About Race Categories

Each race has 4 categories: A, B, C, and D. A/B race the same distance, as do C/D.

B and D are for women only, so men can only sign up for A or C, while women can join any of the four categories.

Confusing? Maybe a bit, but basically it means men get to choose from a long or short version, while women get that same choice, but can choose to race with women only (B and D categories) or a larger mixed group.

    Race Routes and Schedule

Zwift set up these races to somewhat mirror what’s happening outdoors in Yorkshire each day. So, for example, when we race ITT #1, we’ll do the same number of Harrogate laps as the Juniors who race Monday. Cool!

The first half of the week consists of individual time trials (ITT), where you race against yourself. The second half is more traditional road races.

    ITT #1

    • Monday, September 23rd
    • Route: 2019 UCI Worlds Harrogate Circuit
