A new 4-stage series launches tomorrow on Zwift in partnership with Ryzon, a tri + cycling clothing label based in Cologne, Germany. Jan Frodeno and other Ryzon ambassadors will be participating in weekly social rides and time trials every Thursday, and the Zwift community is invited to join in the fun!

Pick Out a Non-Drafting Rig
You’ll want to pick out the fastest in-game bike possible for each race – that means picking the best frame and wheelset for each week’s route!
Drafting is disabled for these events, but TT bikes are not being required. Still, you’ll want to pick a nice fast TT rig for most or all races. Do you swap to a light road bike for the big climbs? That’s a call you’ll have to make yourself!

Kit Unlock
Complete just one event to unlock the Ryzon kit. Ryzon gave Zwifters the chance to vote between two kit designs, and this is the one they selected.
The kit is also available IRL – learn more.

La Reine TT sounds fun. What Setup would I use for that? Cervelo P5 + Meilenstein wheels; lightweight road bike + Meilenstein; or just the Tron bike?
Would be cool if you could use a road bike with clip-on tribars that you toss before starting the climb, but that’s something for IRL pro races 🙂
I actually wondered whether the lightest wheels and frame combo is the fastest choice for the fastest guys on Alpe, who can do it sub 40 minutes and average over 18.5 km/h. Ven-Top is even lower gradient than that, so possibly the aero benefit would be larger. Maybe test this out Erik? Tarmac Pro + LW vs all round setup like Aeroad 2021 + DT wheels or maybe even 858s?
I though this series is limited to TT-bikes only?
Generally speaking of course.
Sorry, I must have missed that information somewhere?
Would be a very odd choice to require TT bikes without assigning riders to the Canyon Speedmax? Just based on business relations, why would Ryzon/Frodeno host an event series where everyone is forced to ride a TT bike and barely anyone would choose a Canyon to do it?
Sorry Eric, just realized I misspelled your name.
Tarmac Pro (or Cannondale Evo) plus Meilenstein wheels is definitely the fastest up Alpe du Zwift. Can’t speak for sub40mims because my standard sweet spot workout takes ~42mins but at that time it’s not even close. Aeroad was faster but that changed.
Would you be able to swap bikes on stage 4? Ride your TT bike to the base of the Epic KOM and then swap to a light climbing setup, then swap to TT bike again on top, etc.?
After doing La Reine last Thursday, my bike changed to the Canyon. I tried to change it back to the Venge, but it would stick. However, when I changed it to the Cervelo P5 (with Zipp 454 wheels), that seemed to stick. So I guess you have to use a TT frame in the series.
