“Richmond Loop Around” Route Details (Richmond)
Announced July 2024 as a route for the inaugural Zwift World Series, the Richmond Loop Around is basically three laps of the Cobbled Climbs Reverse followed by one lap of the standard Richmond 2015 UCI Worlds route.Â
That means you’ll tackle nine climbs on the front end of the race, and finish with three more. It’s a great course for breakaway riders and anyone with strong, repeatable 1-2 minute w/kg.

Route Description
This route starts fast, with a descent of Governor Street. (Enjoy it now, because you’ll be going in the other direction and suffering up this climb in the final minutes of your race!)
Your first climb comes quickly: the 23rd St KOM. And you’ll descend from the top of that straight into your next climb, the KOM Reverse, which begins with one of the steepest inclines in Zwift, hitting 22%! The KOM Reverse drags a bit at the end (grab those wheels), then you ride through its banner and descend Libby Hill’s cobbles, enjoying a bit of flat respite before climbing up E Main St. (This isn’t an official KOM, but it’s crucial and longer than the two you just climbed.)
You get about 1 kilometer of flat road after topping E Main St, then you ride everything above all over again. Twice! That’s right. You’ll be tackling 23rd St KOM, KOM Reverse, and E Main Street nine times in the first ~27km of this route.
After those three “laps” it’s time to take on a standard forward lap of the Richmond 2015 UCI course. That begins with a flat section that includes the Monument Avenue and Broad Street sprints. Then you’ll descend E Main St, climb Libby, climb 23rd Street, and finish with a grueling effort up Governor Street followed by a straight run-in to the line. Give it all you’ve got!
