The Tron bike (named the “Zwift Concept Z1” in game) is definitely the coolest ride in Zwift (and one of the fastest). How do you get it? Three simple (but not easy) steps:
- Select the “Climb Mt. Everest” challenge in Zwift, and start climbing. You elevation will accumulate over many rides, and you can always click to check your progress.
- At the top of Mt Everest (8,848m / 29,028′) keep going!
- Climb 41,152 additional meters (135,014′) and you will unlock the coveted “Concept Z1” (aka “the Tron bike”).
That’s right: it takes a total of 50,000 meters (164,042′) of climbing to earn the Tron bike.

I’m afraid I still don’t understand. Climbing Everest is a prerequisite? 50,000 m of climb isn’t sufficient by itself? Is it necessary to do the additional 50,000 meters on the Everest climb, or is just your climbing meters once you’ve completed Everest? Thanks for the details.
Choosing the Everest climb as your challenge is a prerequisite. Climbing Everest is the first 8,850 meters of your required 50,000 meters. So, yes, climbing Everest is a prerequisite, and then “climb 41,150 additional meters”.
Can it be done a dumb trainer? I’m doing it on a dumb trainer and it’s accepting my rides and elevation. I’m halfway..but I wonder, if it will actually unlock the bike for me as I’m not on a smart trainer. I’ll be so disappointed if i don’t get it. Any idea?

Seems that what I climb in races or events does not always get added to my total climb towards the 50000 m Tron bike. Any reason why?
If you’ve got the challenge selected, and you’re saving your rides when you’re done… it should be added. If it isn’t, I’d contact Zwift support.
Does the challenge take already climbed meters into account retroactively?

So I have to Everest all in one ride, then climb the additionally required meters in the same ride? Seems impossible yet I see Tron bikes everywhere
It’s cumulative—doesn’t have to be all in one ride. Although I known of ONE Zwifter who did it all in one ride!
Sorry to be so dense. I understand that the Everest ride and the additional 41,000+ do NOT have to take place at the same time. BUT… do you have to the Everest portion all at once, or can you pedal part of Everest and come back to it later. Thanks.
None of the parts have to be at once. It’s all cumulative.
ADZ is about 1000m. A strong ADZ climb would be about an hour, so we are talking about 50 hours of hard climbing. That isn’t even taking into account the time it takes to go back down the mountain between climbs. So the only way to do it in “one ride” would be to leave the game running for days or weeks. If you get off the trainer without quitting the game and come back 12 hours later to keep riding, the game might call that one ride, but I don’t. I call shenanigans.
Purchased a bike never got it.
After you finish Mt Everest and are continuing to climb towards 50k meters, do you need to leave it on Mt Everest or can you change to a different challenge and still be climbing towards tron bike?
Gotta keep it on the Everest challenge if you want your climbing to count toward the Tron bike.

If it is such a common mistake like I found out tonight after climbing 51000 m, you would expect Zwift to make it more clear. I mean why do you pay so much if they know there are mistakes and they are secretive about it. MAJOR DISAPPOINTING AND DISGUSTING

I think zwift are just really bad at communicating. I’ve had to ask my cycling buddies to explain most things I want to know as I can find the answers online easily. Zwift bloggers are a godsend!
I have been on Zwift for a couple years so have a cumulative 99.7km of all time climbing. I started the Everest Challenge a few weeks ago and am almost to the top. Does my cumulative climbing from before count as the additional 41,150m?
Nope! You have to have the Everest Challenge selected for your climbing to count.
I have over 50,000 of climbing but no tron yet. Does it appear automatic?

At the beginning i started the distance Challenge . Now i got around 17k of climbing ans im at around 5k at the Everest Challenge. To my question: Are these 12k counting or are they useless and dont Matter after i achieved the Everest Challenge?
anything before Everest challenge is not counted towards the tron

Sure, just open the menu while in game, and click the Everest challenge.
BUt it doesn’t show anything except my Everest elevation. It is not adding.
If you have Everest selected every Meter or climbing is added to total,, check the challenge, your bike will either be on the mountain or in the sky, if you have already summitted Everest

All you have to do is select the everlasting challenge from the in game menu and start climbing. all the climbing meters you do whilst you have the challenge selected add up towards it.
Once you hit the height of Everest 8850m (which can be done over as many rides as you like) you will unlock the Trek Emonda. Keep the challenge selected and ride up the remaining 41,150m (again over as many rides as you like) to unlock the Zwift Concept 1 (Tron) at 50,000m total cumulative ascent.
MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE EVEREST CHALLENGE SELECTED FOR YOUR CLIMBING METERS TO COUNT
No , all climbing counts if you’ve selected the Everest challenge. Then you just climb anywhere you want, you don’t even have to climb the Alpe at all, just keep returning to look at the Everest challenge and you’ll see how many metres you e climbed
Climbing the Alpe gives you a chance to win the millensteins wheels !

If you choose the menu when you are in the game, middle right of the screen you will see a picture, select that, then you can choose the challenge

If youve climbed 50, 000 m of elevation, and the challenge said complete, you should have the bike. Its also called the Concept Z1 in the Zwift Garage…
Hi – 50,000m equals 500m per 1%… (or c. 1,640ft) if I’ve got my basic maths correct…
I’m currently at 62% on the challenge… did 2,200ft in one ride yesterday and my % didn’t change – still showing 62% complete…. surely it should increase by 1% for every 500m/1.640 ft i’ve climbed??
do you still have the challenge selected? if yes then it counts at the end of the ride, if not then any climbing doesnt get counted
I am 37% of the way towards the Tron Bike. If I switch to the Wahoo climb challenge, and then switch back to the Everest challenge to get the Tron Bike, will I have to start over, or will it remember that I am at 37%? Thanks

Wahoo is a Mission (temporary game events, usually tied with a sponsorship), Everest is a Challenge (persistent game objective, usually take many months to complete). You can progress in Missions and Challenges at the same time.
If I ride tomorrow I will get my Tron bike at last….
I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find the place to sign up for the “Climb Mt Everest Challenge”… I was able to sign up for the Wahoo Climbing, and TdZ… 🙁
When you’re sitting on the side of the road in a ride, you click on the Menu button at the bottom left side of the screen. It will bring up your profile page. In the upper right hand corner of that screen you will find the Challenge picture. Click it and select your challenge.

It’s automatically unlocked and added to your garage. Called the Zwift Concept ZI.
what is the percentage of Zwifters who have a Tron bike, I am sure Zwift has that info.

You need to update to the latest version of Zwift, which contains a fix for this bug.
I’ve got to ask how the hell do you equip the Tron bike? I have unlocked it the banner wouldn’t disappear off my screen it kept flashing and it confirmed I’d completed the Everest challenge but can’t find the bike anywhere to equip it any help appreciated
It’s called the Zwift Concept Z1 (not the Tron bike) in your garage. So look for that.
If it doesn’t show, contact Zwift support. A bug last week was making it so unlocks weren’t staying in people’s garages.
Why can’t you earn the Tron Bike after you’ve already accumulated the 50000m? Why is it strictly prospective and not also retrospective? The 50000m is the same thing either way.
I just finished climbing Everest today
I rode the 50,000M the first time without getting the tron wheels and realized I wasn’t on the Everest climb. Did it a second time on the Everest track. It popped up that I reached the 50Km climb but still no illuminated wheels. What is up?

I signed up for the Mt Everest Challenge in March of last year, and now have over 50,000 meters of climbing according to my Zwift profile (167,182 feet). When I check my Zwift home screen where you can choose a ride or join a race or access your garage to change your bike frame I can no longer find any information on any Zwift challenges including the Mt Everest Challenge I joined. Over the last 9 months I would periodically get information on the status of my climbing relative to the challenge. I checked every menu multiple times on my home screen, but could not find any information on “challenges”. What can I do to find out what is going on?
I got the information from a Zwift Ambassador, who after 5 minutes of back and forth finally told me to start a ride and click menu, and it brought up the old home screen with the challenge information and I am at 88% of the 50,000 meters so don’t have too much longer to get my Tron Bike.

Yup, it’s in the same place as always. When you’re in game, go to Settings, and the challenges are in the big window at the top-right of that first settings window. Click on that.

Hi Eric, thanks for all the awesome info re the E/challenge…just want to be sure before i start….i can sign up , then each time when in the game…click the Menu button an choose the challenge to continue…i can also continue with all normal train sessions or rides if i so wish and can always come back to the challenge…take it my thinking here is correct 👍
No, your thinking is not correct. 🙂
The challenge runs alongside whatever activity you’re doing. So you pick one of the three challenges, then whatever you do in game (workouts, races, free riding, etc) counts toward whatever challenge you have selected.
Most people just pick the challenge they want once, then ride until they complete the challenge after many days. At that time, they pick the next challenge.
To my surprise I got the Tron Bike without starting the Everest challenge. Just accumulated 50K

vEveresting is a different challenge. To get that badge, you will to climb 8848m in a single ride.

Once you’ve completed the Everest challenge and have kept it selected, how can you tell how many meters you still have to achieve for the Tron bike? I climbed a lot before I selected the Everest challenge and it gives me the total climbing distance but not what I still need for the Tron bike.
