This update delivers a few impressive additions to the Drop Shop, as well as a couple of new Makuri Islands routes. Read on for details!
New Bikes & Wheels
Three new items have been added to the Drop Shop:
- Pinarello Dogma F frame: 3 stars for aero, 4 for weight // Level 32+ required // 1,029,500 Drops
- Specialized Aethos S-Works frame: 2 stars for aero, 4 for weight // Level 34+ required // 923,000 Drops
- Roval Alpinist CLX wheels: 3 stars for aero, 4 for weight // Level 32+ required // 135,300 Drops
We’re finalizing our speed tests for these items right now, and will publish them ASAP. Until then, we’ll just say this: all three of these pieces of virtual kit stand out from the pack in terms of performance. And that’s always exciting for Zwift racers!
Added Yumezi Routes
Two routes have been added to the Yumezi map on Makuri Islands. This isn’t new tarmac (or dirt), just new routes on the roads which were released back in May.
- Kappa Quest Reverse (14.2km, 271m): just the reverse version of the mostly-dirt, never flat Kappa Quest route.
- Suki’s Playground (18.5km, 150m): a flattish figure 8 which skips the KOMs while visiting all three villages and the Country Sprint

Pack Dynamics/Draft Lock Tweaks
Pack dynamics are always a hot topic among the Zwifting faithful. Conspiracy theories abound (did Zwift change it without telling us?), and everyone has an opinion about what works and what doesn’t and how it could be improved.
In this release, Zwift has made it clear that pack dynamics have been tweaked in two specific ways. Here’s what you should notice (we haven’t yet tested to confirm):
- You should now keep a more consistent lateral position in the pack. Riders were getting pushed to the sides, so it appeared they were out of the draft (although they actually weren’t). This update should help you not get pushed to the side.
- You should have fewer issues with losing speed when colliding with others – that is, coming up behind them and getting on their wheel or slowly passing. (This is something we discussed several months ago.)
Zwift’s forum post includes this note: “To be clear, this is not eliminating the “sticky draft” that happens when you overtake slower riders. Improvements to pack dynamics will continue, and sticky draft is among those targeted areas.” So clearly, Zwift is still working on dialing in the sticky draft behavior.

Workout Changes
A new “Athlete-Inspired” category has been added to the workouts list. All of the workouts from the recent Olympic Virtual Series can be found here, and future workouts inspired by big-name athletes may reside here as well.
New Workouts of the Week have also been added for upcoming dates.
Bug Fixes and Misc Improvements
Here’s the list of fixes and improvements, with some notes in italics from us where warranted.
- Made numerous art improvements to Makuri Islands visuals.
- Numerous cycling and running assets (kits, shirts, etc.) have been added or updated.
- Fixed an issue during a workout where multiple watts values were displayed incorrectly.
- Fixed an issue that would cause the MeetUp event box to appear smaller than it should.
- Fixed an issue in the activity discard UI where button text would be missing in certain languages.
- Fixed an issue that would cause riders to ride off course during a group ride on the Spirit Forest route.
- Fixed an issue that would cause an activity map to show an incorrect path (very long line) when Zwifters moved between events, meetups and free rides in the same game session.
- Fixed an issue that would cause audio from a previous event to continue to play (mainly impacts Podcast rides).
- Fixed an issue that would cause the leaderboard for the Makuri Islands Flatland Loop to behave badly. The Flatland Loop forward route was routed incorrectly – this release fixes it, so you go through the Castle Sprint. This means the lap jersey leaderboard now works for the Flatland Loop, in both directions.
- Fixed an issue with the Makuri Islands Country Sprint where riders would be incorrectly flagged as flyers.
- Fixed an issue that would cause bike shadows to bend space and time, tearing a rift across multiple dimensions. The good news is, no events in the past were altered in such a way which would impact Marty’s ability to exist in the future.
- Fixed an issue which would cause automatic screenshots to fail if taken in a meetup, event or workout.

The shadows were broken? I just thought my wheels were reeeeally out of true!
Still no support for the new Apple TV remote?
New update not working using my Assioma pedals as primary power source..nothing shows up under controllable while using the Assioma pedals on my iPad Pro.
same with Stages Powermeter as primary power source and cadence – no controllable trainer found on iPad Air.
Now I have to pair the Kickr V5 as powersource/cadence/controllable trainer since installing the update 1.15.0
Also fit file from Zwift Classics – the Apple Lap race today doesn’t upload to Strava any more after this update 🙁
Same here can’t connect my stages power meter
4iiii, Powerbox, Assioma, Inpeak, Ronde. All of my powermeters blocks trainer as controllable, when connected as power source. The same on Android Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro and Iphone.
Zwift cares more about the dropshop then actually fixing issues
Happened to me too. I just completely closed the app, and start it again and it will work again.
Thanks but i tried everything. Deleted and re installed. nothing. works with older ipad and previous firmware.
The issue started a little while ago…
https://forums.zwift.com/t/power-meter-and-smart-trainer-simultaneous-connection-issue/551780/11
Any luck yet John? ran in the same issue today, not happy after investing in to the pedals specially for zwift, makes me wanna switch to Bkool
Same issue with stages left arm and not being able to choose kickr snap as controllable any more.
My Zwift crashes a bit into the upload. Tested total reinstallation. But the problem remains.
Try to delete the files Zwift_StreamingFiles_* from Documents\Zwift
“Riders were getting pushed to the sides, so it appeared they were out of the draft (although they actually weren’t)”
I think you are wrong. Besides my avatar not being in the drafting animation anymore, I also struggled during TTTs when I was pushed to the side. 5 days ago Shuji posted this “This should reassure you that your avatar is staying in the draft of the riders ahead of you.”
Zwift also changed the guest world schedule with the update, adding a Makuri day to coincide with the rollout of the new routes, it appears, and swapping the Tuesday LDN/YKS day to later in the week while dropping the INS/RCH day for Monday. Not a big deal given how easy it is to ride in whatever world we want, but still worth noting for those planning their route hunting.
There should be some type of Makuri Islands pretzel route.
Made one and sent to Eric for a possible rebel route. It favors the gravel bike due to how the temple/tree climb in either direction is gravel for much of the route. S/F by the castle town pens/lap arch. Using both of the lower gravel sections with road sections between. It may be another route if they add in mt fuji or another big climb. Also made a surrrey hills style route.
I felt like my avatar beast constantly seeking out oncoming riders today on Makuri. More so than I recall. I killed hundreds.
Was… Not beast.
Yep, I must have hit over 100 riders on one lap – no lane discipline at all 🙂
Can’t zwift show useful data on screen like Normalised Power for session or lap, this is basic stuff and would be useful
If you’re on Windows you can give Zwift Activity Monitor (https://github.com/ruffk/ZwiftActivityMonitor) a shot. Installation isn’t easy though, but it does have some pretty useful features.
I totally agree there should be an option to display this very(!) basic information.
Not in my experience. I didn’t have the issue before the update. Last night I downloaded the update and then had the issue for the first time. Sigh.
Same. Now my interval values display incorrectly instead of correctly (shows the first value for both)
Same issue here and a few mates have the same problem on different platforms (iOS and PC). Fortunately the interval power setting for erg is not affected, just the display for the workout.
New update not working using my Quark SRAM Powermeter as primary power source..nothing shows up ( in my case KICKR ) under controllable while using the Quark SRAM on my iPad Pro.
Any idea for a solution ? It works only when I use KICKR as primary power the the KICKR shows up under controllable and I can choose them.
This is an that came up yesterday, here is a link to the forum thread: https://forums.zwift.com/t/power-meter-and-smart-trainer-simultaneous-connection-issue/551780

Rode Specialized Roval Alpe du Zwift challenge with latest update on Apple TV. Ride corrupted and can’t display, download FIT or sync with strava. Zwift support say this is a known problem and are working on it!
Can’t connect my stages power meter as power source .. Please can you fix this
Flatland Loop back and a lot more riders on the board. Did they fix the loop to match route or route fixed to match loop (ie does it go through castle sprint still or not)?
Had time to test loop after finishing Suki. Flatland loop does still go through the Village sprint. I was auto steered through there without needing to make the right hand turn manually, so my guess is the flatland route was changed to matches the loop.
Flatland Loop was changed to go through the sprint properly.
Do you happen to know if they restored the Jersey for the loop? A little while ago they the orange jersey away if you were the top time.
Leaderboard is restored, but I did not have an icon by my name for any of my jerseys (Temple KOM, Village Sprint, or Flatlands loop). My avatar was wearing polka dots, then swapped to just the green jersey (not mixed). When I went through the arch and took fastest loop time, I did not swap to orange (or mixed) and stayed in the green.
On the plus side, there are a lot more times on the loop leaderboard now that the route matches the loop.
Fixed an issue during a workout where multiple watts values were displayed incorrectly? Well, I can tell you right now that this is NOT fixed. Although today’s workout DID give me the correct watts for my intervals, both effort and recoveries were listed as the same wattage in the box at the top left of the screen.
Update seems to have broken the fit files. When I jump from one (warm-up) activity straight into an event, there is no separate fit file for the event, and the map and data are taken from the previous ride. Pretty messed up.
Same issue here. Gutted as it was for the Classic ride and ai would have liked to have taken a look at the data. Cant find any way of getting that data back.
Same. Devastated, pushed some good numbers for the first time in a while for the Classic and no love seeing the fit file on Strava
Same here
Same here. Data not on Zwift companion and app kicks me out when I swipe right on the ride. No fit file transfer to Strava either
bummer
Hi! Updated PC version today and Zwift recognizes my connected Elite Direto but doesn’t control it in workouts… the EEG/incline option disappears from Companion as if I’m using a dumb trainer and I have to manually adjust gears to increase resistance.
“Fixed an issue that would cause bike shadows to bend space and time, tearing a rift across multiple dimensions. The good news is, no events in the past were altered in such a way which would impact Marty’s ability to exist in the future.”
So, that’s something. I think they’re saying they just got lucky.
Hi, this update broke the connection to my assiomo pedals from my spinningbike
SO i can not use both at the same time anymore, only using spinningbike as power meter ( gives totally wrong watt ) and since I paid so much for my pedals, that is not an option.
Any help?
I run Zwift on an iPhone 8 (screen mirrored to a TV) and a Kickr Snap, and never have problems. However, reading all of the issues you all are having since the update (and similar complaints with many prior updates) makes me wonder if ZHQ ever tests the updates prior to releasing them? Others have commented before that we are the beta testers, but in all fairness, I’ve previously assumed that the code is complicated, users have an incredible variety of hardware, and thus it’s impossible to test every permutation prior to release. However, the wide range of broken stuff… Read more »
iPhone – Companion is no longer a Companion…. it does not speak to the AppleTV to display the map and what – not stuff, that is needed for a ride. 🙁
There seems to be a fairly major issue with this update – fit files are being corrupted and may be unable to be recovered. Iniitally seems to be related to events but Zwift are looking into it.
Unable to download a ride – and it didn’t auto-upload [July 2021] – Known Issues – Zwift Forums
Fit files (Makuri) don’t upload to strava properly. They show a few seconds workout after burning an hour of hard watts. I tried to upload them manually and they show the same.
This update hasn’t been a pleasant experience. Avatars swerving all over the road around me as well as me. Since the update I can’t get my cadence to work either. I’m feeling like the draft is also messed up. Not happy Jan!!
I lost my favorite Trek training Jersey in this update. Is it possible to get it back?
with this update you have only created problems. you don’t save a lot of strava rides with iPhones and iPads. you cannot use the power meter pedals otherwise the controller will not command you
Worst update ever! My avatar swerves WAY out of the way of other riders, even when they are passing me. I did London, which was not crowded. It would really be awful in Watopia. And the sticky draft is less sticky when passing (that was good), but once it gets you, it is like an unbreakable rubber-band. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!
My Zwift keeps saying it encountered a roadblock and chucks me out when I’m trying to log in since I updated it a couple of days ago. Tried switching everything off and on etc
What is going on with these new dynamics. Was doing my head in every time I would approach a slower rider my avatar would wildly swing to the right. Made it near impossible to have a pleasant roll with mates as we were wildly swerving all over the road
Cannot connect my Assioma Duo. 🤔My Avatar is all over the Road.
The silence from Zwift is deafening…..
With the new update on Apple TV, if I ride a warmup before an event and Zwift switches to the event, it does not register the warmup ride to be finished. This makes that after the event only the event itself is registered in Zwift and that only the warmup is uploaded to Strava. Does anyone recognise this?
Are the new routes going to get added to the veloviewer route hunter thingy?
I think I would like to “pause” my Zwift subscription. There are just too much nonsense in the last 2 to 3 updates. I would like to try the myriad of other similar options out. If I take a free 1 month on each other option, I will have something about a free year of indoor riding. At the end of the year Zwift will either have grown up, or I would have come across a less troublesome option. I have been with Zwift since, guessing here, about 2014’ish. I remember the blue ghost riders, from way back when. Now,… Read more »
When are you going to create a indoor cycling track? With races like pursuit, keirin etc.. ?
