Tuesdays in January have been good for Peak Zwift watchers: today, for the third Tuesday in a row, we hit a new high!
The new record occurred at the same time as last week – just a few minutes after 10am Pacific, as Tour de Zwift events got underway and racers logged on for Zwift Racing League Season 2‘s first TTT.
Today’s peak jumped to 49,114, up 5.9% from last week’s peak of 46,375.
Reminder: Zwift hasn’t been confirming precise peak numbers, so it’s up to us to spot new records. That means we don’t know the precise Peak Zwift number, but we can certainly get close. Thanks to all who sent in Peak Zwift screenshots today – Dan Harrison wins the prize today (12,000 Unicorn Drops!), sending in the highest number we’ve seen (although it’s possible someone will comment with an even higher one, as often happens).

So what day and time is the “valley”?
The lowest-traffic time of day is probably something like 5-8pm each day. And I’d say Mondays are probably the lowest-traffic days… although I haven’t really tracked it closely.

Is there a way to se how many users was login during the day?
No, all you can do is look at the Companion app where it shows the current number.
It was less than a year ago that we first spotted the Number Zwifting heading North of 20,000. Unfortunately, I think the massive growth in usage is a double edged sword. I love Zwift, but sadly I think efforts to make sure the platform performs properly with ever increasing numbers of users has distracted from development of the core experience.
I am not one of those users who feels I am constantly owed new stuff because I am paying to use it, but there is a danger of it becoming stale if we don’t get any new stuff at all ever. The 4km of new roads was welcome, but not really anything to write home about, especially as it was possible to knock off all the new route badges in around an hour of riding.
So … great to see usage going through the roof, but can we please see some new stuff soon (and, Eric … I know you have no say in that).
