Zwift CEO and Co-Founder Eric Min has traditionally led a T-Day ride on Thanksgiving morning, inviting Zwifters to put in some early bike miles before spending time eating turkey and pumpkin pie with family and friends!
This rides is always popular, with thousands showing up. Often, Eric will have some big-name guests on the ride as well! (With the ride still unannounced and over a week away, the rider list is short, but my guess is you’ll see many community leaders and well-known cyclists showing up.)
This year’s ride has a rare double-jersey unlock, plus we’ll be on one of the new Jarvis Island routes. Read below for details…
Route and Schedule Details
Event start time is 4pm UTC/11am ET/8am PT on Thursday, November 28. This is an open-paced ride, so you can ride hard or easy. With lots of riders joining in, you’ll always have someone to ride with!
The ride is 60 minutes long and held on the new Triple Twist route in Watopia. This route takes you around the new Jarvis Island, the Volcano, up and over the Hilly KOM Reverse, and more.

Kit Unlocks
Back by popular demand, Zwift has made the 10-Year Anniversary Kit an unlock for this event:

Note: if you like the look of the 10-Year kit, it’s available as a real-life kit from Pedal Mafia for a limited time.
You will also unlock the T-Day kit:

Earlier/Longer Option
If this ride is too late in the day for you and/or you’re looking for a longer ride, check out BMTR’s Thanksgiving 100 which begins at 1pm UTC/8am ET/5am PT. Riders will be on the flat Tick Tock route for 100km, and there are two pace groups: D at 1.6-2w/kg, and C at 2.4-2.8w/kg.

Thanks for the info. It’s completely new to me. I already have the 10-Year Anniversary Kit, but the other kit could also look quite nice.
I signed up.
Maybe include the date for us non-Americans 😉
Done!
Well 4pm UK time isn’t great for those of us who have jobs! 😂
Quit. You know this ride means more than mere material possessions like a home. I get it though, imagine the audacity of the rest of the world doing stuff while you’re at work! It’s an outrage. I mean wasn’t the British Empire supposed to stop exactly this sort of thing? 😀
Is the unlock just for participating or only finishing? I know it may be a not-so-acceptable, but in my timezone it is 5am
Probably finishing.
5am is a lovely time to ride!
I would love a 5AM ride option myself, instead this shows up right at the start of the family feeding frenzy for Thanksgiving for me.
Grab a plate and eat it on the bike! 😉
Hopefully no divorces result from this ride.
(family, shamily, Zwift is more important than that.)
Any idea if both or either of the kits are unlocked if the longer BMTR option is ridden?
Wes, completing the BMTR event only unlocks the BMTR kit!
T-day kit is same as last year? I plan to use it for the day even before the official ride starts with Eric and crew =)
Yeah, same kit.
It didn’t unlock!
I would have missed this ride if it wasn’t for this article.
Turnout was 3330 riders.
Good to see the CEO “eating his own dogfood”.
Fun course. So bummed I didn’t get Kit. I forgot this group ride was 60 minutes vs doing a course. When the banner said course complete I thought it was over. So I ended the ride. 🤯
This was a fun ride with Eric Min, Co-Founder of Zwift! Would have liked to see Jon Mayfield on the ride too… Timezone sfuff ain’t easy. But I managed to free myself at 11:00 AM for this… Early lunch! Eric had plenty to say which was very entertaining! Thanks to the organizers of this ride. And Thanks to Eric and Jon for creating Zwift!
