“Richmond Loop Around” Route Details (Richmond)
Announced July 2024 as a route for the inaugural Zwift World Series, the Richmond Loop Around is basically three laps of the Cobbled Climbs Reverse followed by one lap of the standard Richmond 2015 UCI Worlds route.
That means you’ll tackle nine climbs on the front end of the race, and finish with three more. It’s a great course for breakaway riders and anyone with strong, repeatable 1-2 minute w/kg.

Route Description

Route profile by ZwiftHub – the place to plan and track your route achievements!
This route starts fast, with a descent of Governor Street. (Enjoy it now, because you’ll be going in the other direction and suffering up this climb in the final minutes of your race!)
Your first climb comes quickly: the 23rd St KOM. And you’ll descend from the top of that straight into your next climb, the KOM Reverse, which begins with one of the steepest inclines in Zwift, hitting 22%! The KOM Reverse drags a bit at the end (grab those wheels), then you ride through its banner and descend Libby Hill’s cobbles, enjoying a bit of flat respite before climbing up E Main St. (This isn’t an official KOM, but it’s crucial and longer than the two you just climbed.)
You get about 1 kilometer of flat road after topping E Main St, then you ride everything above all over again. Twice! That’s right. You’ll be tackling 23rd St KOM, KOM Reverse, and E Main Street nine times in the first ~27km of this route.
After those three “laps” it’s time to take on a standard forward lap of the Richmond 2015 UCI course. That begins with a flat section that includes the Monument Avenue and Broad Street sprints. Then you’ll descend E Main St, climb Libby, climb 23rd Street, and finish with a grueling effort up Governor Street followed by a straight run-in to the line. Give it all you’ve got!
Changelog
Oct 21, 2024: shortened Strava route, so it should match free rides as well as events.

@eric can we get an animated map with profile? Like old ones? It helps a lot! Thx
Once ZwiftHacks creates them, yes. Problem is, this route isn’t officially in game yet, so ZwiftHacks doesn’t have the data!
Thank You!
Will there be Zwift recon rides for these routes? Or will they be available in CA for meetups so we can preview them in real time?
It would be good to be able to see the 2D map on ZP to get an easy idea about where and for how long the efforts will be (currently blank). Politely, will it make its way there? Thanks.
I did this course as part of the World Series event, however, does not look like I received the badge or XP for the route. Do you know why that might be the case?
With update 1.76, it’s a regular route. Look for it in Richmond.
Some of these routes Zwift have been adding recently are pointless and routes for the sake of having routes.
I think a second strava segment will need to be created because I did this as a free ride and my activity did not match the existing segment. The existing segment seems to start in the pens. My free ride started on the road, and a little bit into the route from the pens.
Exactly what I found out today, a new segment would be nice.
Especially with Velo viewer. You can’t always start in the pen
Just moved the start point, so it should match free rides too.
Please create a new segment instead of editing an existing one like you did for Itza Party for example, now everyone’s history on that segment is now lost.
Hi
ive tried the route 3 times now and each time the route bar disappears after the last corner of the first lap. Is that right or has the route disappeared somehow?
Happens to me to. Read on zwift forum there is a bug. But that was 2 weeks ago. Now riding it but progress al of a sudden gone , so guess the bug is still there.
Just keep going , I got there after 42.5 k without doing anything
I saw the same today (the progress bar vanished), so assuming it had kicked me off the route the third time it sent me towards the reverse climbs (didn’t have phone/tablet to hand to check, so ported over to one of the Robopacers… bummer, looks I was still on the route!
Never saw the route progress bar at all but did get the badge at the end at the designated distance
Why is this not in the velo viewer badge hunters list?
PS. This course is missing in the Zwift Insider leaderboard 😉 Oh, Cobbled Climbs Reverse is missing as well.
