Zwift version 1.82 begins its phased rollout today. This release doesn’t contain any major new features, but rather a list of bug fixes.
New Route Badge
Watopia’s “Danger Noodle” is the latest route badge added to the game. It is currently an event-only route, and will be raced as the final event of Zwift Racing League’s third round. We assume Zwift will open up Danger Noodle after these events so it’s an free rideable route.
Release Notes
Zwift provided notes on additional tweaks and bug fixes in this update:
- Windows, macOS: It’s now easier to exit Zwift with a keyboard or Zwift controller. While on the home screen, press the Escape (Esc) key on your keyboard, or the B button on your Zwift Play or Zwift Ride to see the exit prompt.
- Fixed an issue where the workout block countdown chime sound would not play in some cases.
- Updated flag icons for some countries.
- Fixed an issue that could cause an incorrect flag icon to appear when a Zwifter does not have their country set.
- Improved in-workout messaging for workouts in the Sprint, Attacking, and Endurance challenges.
- Running: Fixed an issue that caused distance units to only show one decimal place instead of two in the HUD.
- Fixed an issue that could cause calories shown in the HUD to overlap with its icon when greater than 10,000 calories.
- Improved the visual quality of road art on some devices.
- iOS, tvOS: Fixed a crash that could potentially occur after completing multiple workouts in a row.
- Android: Fixed an issue that could cause some frames to have invisible seat posts or saddle rails in the Drop Shop.
- General stability improvements.

Everytime I open these posts hoping to be surprised but instead everytime it’s a disappointment. Can’t believe it’s this damn hard to add more roads.
Totally agree 👍 💯
I’d like to see a plot of Km of roads added vs time so we can put some of the recent additions in context of the historical rate of road development/addition. It feels slower lately…
To be fair, there has been quite a few releases of new courses lately. Sure, I would like more just as much as the next guy, but I am quite happy with the tempo of releases now and more importantly that the quality of the newness is up there, not just releasing volume for volumes own sake.
Courses yes. Roads no.
Was really hoping for improvements to pack dynamics.
The F6 (bring it) no longer works
Thank God.
Question related to one item in the change log: “Fixed a crash that could potentially occur after completing multiple workouts in a row.”
How do you line up multiple workouts in a row in the same ride? (assuming this is what Zwift are referring to)
You do a workout, then when you’re done you select another workout
Looks like they’ve also added a pop-up message to the pairing screen that comes up when you’ve got Zwift Play controllers paired and a trainer that doesn’t support virtual shifting (Tacx Neo 2T). “Heads up! Your smart trainer currently doesn’t support virtual shifting. However, you can still use your controllers for other actions within Zwift.” Nice FYI message or upsell marketing move?
The fact that Zwift has had such poor communication with certain partners regarding 3rd party virtual shifting support, except the ones willing to sell a SKU that includes their Zwift Cog is really telling..
I kwam using a Tacx and to my disappointment they are one of the difficult partners…
I got that message last night and mine does support virtual gearing had to restart zwift app and all working again
As a badge hunter 😀 I would like to see the bike and running badges separate.I won’t be doing anything with those run badges.
Yep! +1. I hate running 🙂
But where are the Bike Upgrades? T_T
What do you think about adding a route track to the companion map?
I would like to see it. It would be more like real life and it would be easier to see the progress and navigate the map. I have been living in Zwift for 3 years now and still get confused on Makuri.
Yes. Also a route profile, so I can turn the main screen HUD off all the time 👍🏻
The last draft update is very strange. I have noticed if one is behind a rider and for example the person is doing 4wkg and you stop pedaling, you will pass them.I have also seen if I am chasing a bunch, when I am 10 to 20 meters from the pack, if I stop pedaling, I get sucked into the pack without further effort.
I wish that happened to me the other night during ZRL!
😅
Still waiting on the new ways to spend drops that were announced months ago.
Some things take a long, long, long time.
Oh finally, ik can see my 10000 kcal on my easy recovery ride 🤣
(Just kiding, great fixes 👍)
Well sadly this is not a joke. Even tough small bugs like these are done by junior developers, it still takes and time and resources away from the organization (pm’s, senior devs doing code inspecs etc) so that overall there is less time to build stuff that actually adds value. The fact that they’re even mentioning this stuff in their release notes tells me priorities are still wrong at Zwift HQ.
How about the update for upgrading wheels and bikes in the garage. There was some talk about it before Christmas, is there any news when that will be implemented.?
Sometime in Feb is what I’m hearing…
Still no fix for zwift not saving the video’s correctly. Still 0kb, en not uploading tot Strava. Nice one.
It’s been two months since it was reported that video screen shots stopped working on Windows computers after an OS update and Zwift only recently started looking at the problem, so it might be a while for a fix ☹️
They don’t know how to fix it or reliably replicate it. All solutions offered on the 117 error page implicate the OS over the app and yet do not solve the problem. Direct support has you do the same to no avail. The app throws the error message, fix the app to work with the OS. Rewrite your code, save it differently, any number of solutions are possible but I guess complete silence is easier.
Any news on when the Garage update will be effective?
TSOZ Closer Look: Garage Upgrades and Halo Bikes | Zwift Insider
Zwift is saying sometime in February.
Still haven’t fixed the issue where if you complete a ride and save it and then plan to ride again, your play controllers are not detected so you cannot change gears. You have to fully close the app and reopen
Complete an activity – save it – return to profile page – select profile – all connections made – select route – start ride – no gears selected on screen.
I was presented with a new warning saying play controllers are connected but you have an unsupported trainer.
I used Zwift Ride Frame and JetBlack Victory.
I have had this issue without the new warning a number of weeks.
Use to be able to close laptop and just use the large monitor, now when laptop closes everything freezes
lol “greater than 10,000 calories”
I noticed while in a Training/Workout Session… the coaching comments become 4 mins behind where I am. IE: 2min past a gate/segment change, the pop note will state – Give it all you got here in 2mins we drop watts for short break. Then I get through next gate and it’s back to high Watts interval… and i see pop up, enjoy your short break before we get back after it. I ignore the notes and watch Left of screen as a guide for what going on.
Also, while in Training/Workout — Why does the Route grade changes fight the workout? Thank you, Ride On!
Add please:
– New Badge: Danger Noodle. (ZRL WTRL last round)
Added!
That looks like a fun route. Loops that can be repeated once completed are good design in my opinion.
Meanwhile, MyWhoosh releasing Japan World with (guess what)…. Mt Fuji… Funny, isn’t It? More than a year asking Zwift for that (among other things…).
More crit roads in crit city lol
Why not put Virtual Shiting as 2 buttons on the Companion App for those outside the US who cannot buy Click, game or Cog.
“Fixed an issue that could cause calories shown in the HUD to overlap with its icon when greater than 10,000 calories.”
That’s one heck of a workout!
10,000 calories!? Dang! No surprise that didn’t come up in testing. If anyone’s burning off that much in one ride, chapeau!
“Fixed an issue that could cause calories shown in the HUD to overlap with its icon when greater than 10,000 calories.”
So glad they got this fixed. Was bugging me on every single one of my 14 hour rides.
Just did my first ride with the update and I noticed a substantially increased resistance level on a ride that I have done several times. Is that related to the new release or is there now a disconnect between my bike (not Zwift) and my Android device
