Zwift has rolled out a fresh Mission for January. It’s Tour Down Under-branded and focused on climbing. See below for details.
Note: signups opened this week, but the Mission doesn’t begin until January 1.
Getting Started
To begin the Mission, select the mission card on your homescreen and click to register:

Once you’ve registered, clicking the mission card will show your Mission progress.
Completing the Mission
To complete the mission and earn the achievement badge, accumulate at least 3,057 meters (10,029′) of climbing between January 1st and February 4th.
Why 3,057 meters? Because that’s the total ascent of the EFEX K/QOM sections for the men’s and women’s races in this year’s Tour Down Under.
Don’t Miss Willunga!
The portal Climb of the Month is Old Willunga Hill, which has been made famous by its inclusion in the Tour Down Under and Richie Porte’s incredible ability to drop competitors on its gut-punching slopes. Be sure to ride it this month… or maybe even ride every scaled version of it, including the 125% scale!

Always great to read your info, I always check with you to keep up to date with all things Zwift. I am curious about the Climb Portal rotation. I enjoy doing these rides but was hoping there might be a reasonable rotation to cycle through all the climbs, but it’s been a few months and I’m still waiting for La Super Planche des Belles Filles
Do you have an idea of whether Zwift will have a planned climb portal cycle, or if it’s just random each month?
I don’t know how Zwift decides what to schedule each month, apart from usually featuring a “climb of the month” linked to a big IRL event.
I registered for the January Santos mission, rode 6000ft elevation on four horseman this morning, but show no progress for the the Tour de Santos. Any idea why?
Not sure. Maybe ask Zwift support? Maybe the mission didn’t begin until a few hours later…?
I may be mistaken, but I think you have to enter the portal for the climb to accumulate towards the goal (mission). Non-Portal climbs don’t accumulate towards goal…???
Nah, all climbing counts toward the Mission. I haven’t done any portal climbs yet this month, but I’m already at 94%…
I’ve done a climb everyday this month and I’m only 65%. Seems to be completely random which ones apply. How do I actually get in touch with Zwift support? I go to their site but can’t get past the automated response support.
Zoiks…I haven’t been saving my rides at the end in order to prevent the videos from uploading to my phone…so, didn’t get credit. Dang.
The Mission does not appear on my home page. I can see the Santos rides in the Events, but can’t register for the mission.
This was the mission for January 2023. It’s no longer active.
Ah! Mystery solved! Thank you Eric!
