Zwift just rolled out a fresh Mission for September, and it’s all about route completion.
Note: signups opened earlier this week, but the Mission doesn’t begin until August 31.
Getting Started
To begin the Mission, select the mission card on your homescreen and click to register:

Once you’ve registered, clicking the mission card will show your Mission progress.
Completing the Mission
After registering for the mission, complete five different routes across any combination of Zwift worlds by September 30th. Completing the mission unlocks the mission badge for your achievements list.
“My List” Extra XP Tip
While this mission doesn’t require you to complete five routes you’ve never done before, when you complete a badged route you earn the achievement badge plus an XP bonus roughly equal to the distance-based XP you always earn while riding. That means you effectively earn double XP when completing badged routes for the first time!

Why not leverage the motivation of this month’s mission with Zwift’s recently released My List feature to earn extra XP while completing routes for the first time? Click Explore>Routes on the homescreen of the Companion app, then “All Routes”, then tap the filter icon at the top-right and check only the “Show Uncompleted Routes” box. This will show you all the routes you haven’t yet finished. Click to check them, adding them to your list, which shows up on your homescreen in game so you can easily ride the route.

Presumably there is no need to do this for riders who have completed all routes
If you’ve done all routes then it’s really just to get the mission badge I guess.
Although it looks like you’ll get the XP bonus for the route, so if you’ve done it before, you’ll get the XP bonus for a second time, so basically double XP for the route, just not in one hit like a first timer gets.
I don’t think there are any XP bonuses linked to this mission. You only get the bonus when you complete a route you haven’t completed before.
Ah ok, so no real benefit to completed routes apart from the badge. Seems a bit of a shame they didn’t give a ‘carrot’ to those routes, but looks like it must be aimed at new users then.
To be honest I thought it will be in a scheduled group rides format to make these longer and/or tougher routes more achievable.
There have been some almost “cakewalk” badges. So for the Tour de France mission, all one needed to do was ride two of the shorter flat routes in the game: Champs-Élysées and Lutece Express.
Of course one was free to do Ven-Top and Petit Boucle.
There could have been an event to achive this in style with France Classic Fondo.
Let’s be honest here—it’s completely useless.
It’s not completely useless. It’s potentially double XP if a route never done before, that’s useful to those trying to level up.
But in terms of a ‘mission’, yeah not particularly impressive.
Can you also do run routes to complete this mission?
I cannot see the routes listed anywhere in Zwift.
I just logged off and back on again. I have registered
Do you get any extra xp for completion of the challenge , zwift needs to get it’s act in order , offer something , a virtual badge 😉, hehe 😄,
I signed up for the mission but can’t see a list of routes to complete. Am I being dumb?
I just rode the first stage of the “Pinarello Powered” ZRacing series and that has counted 1/5 towards this mission. I am none the wiser though.
Climb Portal does NOT count towards this mission.
Please can someone explain which routes count towards this challenge badge, I have done two new routes, One route was counted and one route was not counted, do the routes have to be in different worlds?
Supposed to be ANY route. If your route didn’t get counted I would reach out to Zwift support.
It is not working. I did a new route today and it did not increment.
I did Mayan 8 the other day, it did not count.
I have done 2 Climb Portal routes, neither of them counted.
