Last week saw our first new Peak Zwift(s) in several months – but we knew higher numbers were coming as we rode further into 2021. And guess what? It’s Tuesday: traditional Peak Zwift day. And today at 10:00 Pacific we hit a new record.
Today’s peak jumped to 46,375, up 7.2% from last week’s peak of 43,233.
The new record occurred as the 10am Tour de Zwift events got underway while piles of racers logged in for the first events of Zwift Racing League Season 2. (With over 10,000 racers signed up, this is Zwift’s biggest race series ever!)
Reminder: Zwift hasn’t been confirming precise peak numbers, so it’s up to us to spot new records. That means we don’t know the precise Peak Zwift number, but we can certainly get close. Thanks to all who sent in Peak Zwift screenshots – astute observer Remon Lam wins the prize today, sending in the highest number we’ve seen (although it’s possible someone will comment with an even higher one, as often happens).
If you think you’ve spotted a new Peak Zwift, snap a screenshot and send it over to me at [email protected]!
I am just hoping they are secretly working on a completely new app, since they add so little new content into the game. (Events aka group rides are not a new content whatever the theme is!)
That is fantastic, but anything over 1500 in a race is too much. Zwift really needs to run the TDZ events every 15 minutes during the most popular hours.
Yeah, I did Stage 1 with 10k other riders and it was not fun at all, even if my stream was not laggy. For Stage 2 I did a shorter ride at a less popular hour and we got to 500 riders, which was a lot more enjoyable.
I agree in a race over 1500 is too much… On the brighter side I do find these events and Fundos great for finding similarly matched riders that seem to naturally spread out on the course. Which is nice, because if you give a “ride on” to someone they typically follow you and you can “meet up” (Zwift = ultimate social in distancing 😆) later in group meet ups or find riders. Trying think positive! I really enjoyed the group event from ZI when we did the 25 laps on the volcano!
Thought I took a screenshot, but apparently I didn’t. Saw it over 47K recently.
We need a spreadsheet and a graph of these!
How do you see what the total is across all worlds? I thought the number I see in the world I’m in is only for that world.
Ah nevermind I see, on the companion app.
German to English (Google):
You can brag about records, but it was not possible to run the TdZ stage 2 at 19:00 CET. 15,000 were registered. This morning at 6:00 am it was a charming 95th upgrade servers or limit access.
🤔Why Tuesdays?
Did I miss why in a previous thread?
Essentially, longer rides over the weekend when people have the time means that many people will then use Monday as a rest day and then start riding again on Tuesday.
This is pure speculation, but I wonder if it might be possible to create a tool that uses the same API as the Companion to poll for the activity levels?
No need to expose all the API as there will be data in there that could be commercially sensitive (from user levels you could potentially generate frequency of use, distances, which routes people ride most etc) but there are simple things which could be of interest.
Are their servers still capped at 50K users, or did they use some of that investment capital over the past 8 months to raise that? Because if not, a crisis is coming.
Hi,
