Pas Racing Series Announced: New Gravel, New Bikes, New Unlocks!

Zwift + Pas Normal Studios are partnering for a race series April 6 to May 3, and it’s going to be a gravel blowout! The series features three new gravel-focused routes and is timed to line up with new gravel frames and wheelsets in Zwift’s Drop Shop. And on top of all that, we’ve got a kit unlock on offer as well!

These races will be popular for several reasons, including prominence on the calendar as they effectively replace Zwift’s regular ZRacing events for four weeks. Read about the series below…

Route Details and Schedule

UPDATE April 7, 2026: Zwift informed us today that they’re pulling the new Gravel Mountain routes from the Pas Normal Racing series due to user feedback after the first day of racing. (You can read some of that feedback in the comments on this page, as well as Zwift forum topics like this.)

Stage 1 has been changed to Watopia’s Jungle Circuit, and stage 4 is now on Watopia’s Serpentine 8.

A decision has not yet been made on how the GC will be handled for the series, since it wouldn’t make sense to count riders’ times for two different routes. We will update this post once we know more.

Here are the details of what we’ll be racing in the Pas Normal Racing series:

  • Stage 1 (Apr 6-12): Red Rock Loops (Gravel Mountain) Jungle Circuit (Watopia)
    • 1 lap (13.5km, 91m elevation)
    • Powerups: Steamroller
  • Stage 2 (Apr 13-19): Handful of Gravel (Watopia)
    • 2 laps (16.3km, 169m elevation)
    • Powerups: Steamroller
  • Stage 3 (Apr 20-26): Yumezi Grit (Makuri Islands)
    • 2 laps (19.1km, 235m elevation)
    • Powerups: Steamroller
  • Stage 4 (Apr 27-May 3): Red Rock Loop Reverse (Gravel Mountain) Serpentine 8 (Watopia)
    • 1 lap (26.9km, 239m elevation)
    • Powerups: Steamroller

New Gravel Frames+Wheels

Zwift is using this series as an opportunity to refresh the Drop Shop’s gravel offerings more than ever before, with 5 frames arriving along with 2 wheelsets! Some of these are already in game and available for purchase, and we’ve completed and published our performance tests. Others will arrive in Zwift’s next game update, which is scheduled to roll out April 7.

New Bikes

New Wheels

Pas Normal Kit Unlock

Finish any stage of this series and unlock the in-game Pas Normal Racing kit.

XP Bonuses

Like Zwift’s regular ZRacing series, this race series includes XP bonuses for stage completion! A total of 2000 XP is available:

  • 1 stage: 1000 XP
  • 2 stages: +500 XP
  • 3 stages: +300 XP
  • 4 stages: +200 XP

GC Leaderboards

Zwift’s web-based leaderboards are used to track the monthly GC competition in ZRacing and similar series. Unlike past years, no ZwiftPower registration or use is necessary.

Access the ZRacing leaderboards at zwift.com/racing/leagues/pasracing2026 >

Your GC ranking is based on your best finishing time for each stage, and you can race each stage more than once to try for a better time.

Category Options

For their monthly series, Zwift typically schedules three different categorization schemes to encourage “Fairer, more competitive racing for everyone.” The different racing score ranges are titled Advanced, Range 1, and Range 2:

I like the idea of kicking off the new gravel mountain world with a racing series. However, given that there wasn’t much gravel racing previously, it would be more enticing to me if equipment was neutralized for these events to give everyone time to get / upgrade gravel bikes.

As someone who put in a lot of time to specifically upgrade his Specialized Crux to level 5 (on the way to get the Project 74) for the 2-3 races a year I do where it matters, I would love to get the advantage out of it before it is superseded by the new gravel frames and I have to start the upgrade grind all over again (I tend to just do lots of Z2 1-2 pace partners down from my usual rather than trying to find gravel rides to do it).

As it is, I still have 5-ish months before I’m going to get the Project 74 fully upgrades, so I’m not looking forward to doing more upgrades.

I mostly rode Pace Partners as well – it took a LONG time didn’t it.
I’ve upgraded the three Specialized bikes now but haven’t pulled the trigger on buying the P74 – 10million drops is a lot to commit.
See you on Gravel Mountain!

Everyone’s had loads of time to upgrade bikes (says the person with the Level 5 Crux – not that I expect it to make much difference to my results 😂)

I’m a bit confused on what set-up to use for these races.I currently don’t have a gravel set-up, only a fully upgraded road set-up. I don’t think there is enough time to prepare a fully upgraded gravel set-up in one week. Also hard to find information and see what’s the best set-up on ZwifterBikes at the moment, not all routes and bikes are released yet. Any advice? Should I use my road set-up or start working on a gravel set-up?

Ehhhh….. given that there’s a s-works in that upcoming list, it’s a guarantee that it will be the new top dog. We all know how specialized bikes have to be the best in every category because they funded zwift. Better off waiting till the 7th and likely upgrading that.

And if you have a fully upgraded gravel bike that was previously the best, it’s probably faster than a stage 3 upgrade of one of the newer bikes still.

Do you already know the performance of the other gravel bikes being released, hence your comment about the Cannondale?

Hi Eric
Is it worth getting the SuperX Lab71 now and working on the upgrade or will one the unreleased frames be a better long term choice?

The Cervelo Aspero should be at least as fast as the Cannondale, if not faster. Hoping…

Same here – glitches and no XP bonus. Finished 13th out of 40 according to the rider list on the right of the screen. However, my cycling shorts and the CA app showed 17th. Zwift, you can do much better than that 😡

I am in the same boats as you all. I did get the kit! Yesterday I did range 2 and noticed that it doesn’t/didn’t count as I have 0/4…that should count as all the ranges and advanced count. I sent my comment on this website in hopes Eric and Zwift read it. Hopefully Zwift will look into it and make sure we all get what we should be getting (credit and bonus XP).

That was definitely the worst Zwift racing experience I’ve had. I’m assuming they wanted it to feel fast and exciting, but it just felt choppy and out of control. Kept kicking me out of the draft and any type of speed differential just caused surging. Only worse Zwift race I can think of is when we were forced to be dinosaurs on Aprils Fools last year and we couldn’t see anything in our Ladder league race.

Ooh, I remember that. Dinosaurs being so big that I couldn’t see gaps in front of me (or if someone 3 riders up had attacked) was the absolute worst.

Any tips for how to make the most out of the powerups for these races?

Tim

The feeling of speed was actually nice. Going back to a regular road bike on pavement in zwift felt soooo slow after. But they don’t seem to have actually worked through the details here, it seems they just doubled the game clock speed, so the bumps on the road make other riders look like they are jittering around. The camera swings wildly around S-turns, although this might be kind of fun. The speeded up timeline really shows that the pack dynamics need work, very wonky and jumping around, never seeming to stay in the draft well and unnatural.

The equation on gravel is totally shifted, what works and what doesn’t as a break away is totally different with it seemingly being easier to chase down. This was refreshing for a change.

If they can work out the kinks this could be a fun format for racing for a change up of things that feel the same in every zwift race.

I noticed that my race does not count. I did the range 2 as I thought those count. I also received the kit, which means it should have counted (I still have 0/4). Please advise. Thank you.

It looks like all the stages have been revised. I just finished another stage 1, which is the Jungle Circuit. I was able to make this count by getting the 1000xp bonus and completing it ✅️. And I raised my racing score by 5 points!

Good luck getting stage 1 (official one) done!

So how much faster are the gravel bikes? I’m upgrading my aero bike so stuck with that. People seemed to be going past ridiculously fast for same w/kg as me.

The difference in rolling resistance is worth 63 watts for a 75kg rider at 40km/h.

Hi,
Somehow I had not checked the garage so i used the Zwift Steel Bike. It seemed really really slow. I more or less was able to push the same watt but people just flew by me. Pushing around 290-330 watt , weighing around 79kg) I could not even hold a wheel in front of me for more that 5 seconds. I will try saturday again but know i just read the same route is cancelled. Would have been fun to see the difference on gravel bike.

Did anyone actually receive the 1000 XP bonus? I didn`t and from the comments I saw while racing and the ones here other folks also did not receive theirs. Not that it makes a huge difference (for me it currently equals 1/16th of a level upgrade) but I actually like to finally get the carrots dangling in front of my face… 🤔😉

I got the jersey but i didn’t see the normal XP bonus popup and it doesn’t appear to have counted on the PAS racing Series challenge card in the companion app or main game.. still shows 0/4.. I did do the first race that was available but the PAS racing series challenge card was not available at that time

Unless those other bikes upgrade better, the Lab71 will still be best. The Aspero 5 is one second better on flat, but about 10 seconds slower on climbs at Stage 0 (means no upgrades). The Dogma GR is close to Lab71 on flats, but climbing is 4 seconds behind Lab71 at Stage 0
