Swift Zwift Tip: How to Get The Neokyo Crit Course Route Badge

Zwift’s new Neokyo Crit Course is the first and only “event-only” route to have an associated route badge in game.

Is this a sign of things to come? We hope so. Adding event-only routes to the list of achievable badges would encourage event participation and add more carrots for Zwifters to chase. And you know we like carrots!

Neokyo Crit Course is being unveiled with the L39ION of LA Crit Series, so participating in one of those races is the most obvious way to get the route badge. But there are other ways, as our favorite Aussie Lama explains:

As Shane explains, you can also unlock the route badge by joining another event held on the route (see a full list of upcoming events on Neokyo Crit Course).

You can also use the Zwift-Preferences tool for Windows, or the Zwift-Prefs tool on Mac.

    Ride on!

I hope more badges won’t be like this if the events are going to occur at crazy hours, then the badge won’t be achievable :/

You can just open zwift, let it auto join the event and complete at any time of day and any pace you want. I used to do that to join the crit city route and ride to gain XP quickly

No. Keep route badges available to not have to enter races. As a triathlete, I’m rarely doing any kind of sprint or race – most of my volume is steady state Z2. While you could also do this as a ride, I find it difficult to find group events which allign to both my time and my desired wattage. (I’m between C and D for a lot of the group ride events).

You can just go at your own pace and ignore the race/ride.

If you don’t want to download the app mentioned in the video you could manually update the prefs.xml file using a text editor. The following needs to be set:

      1127056801

If you also want to world hack to Japan then you can also set the following:

      9

The World hack won’t work as the Crit course is not available from the available courses list. You have to go in either via the Zwift-Preferences app or join an event

More days on Bologna TT would be welcome ! Most under utilized world in game. Would love to see a 54km course (4 climbs)

Will this be added to Zwift Hub? I’m itching to check something off again that doesn’t involve more than 5 hours in the saddle.

wondering about rolling resistance in Neokyo, menu different surfaces there…. Also, when the next update from Zwift is coming with the new Homepage layout. Thanks for the great work with this site Eric. Been a zwifter for soon two years and I think I have almost read every article. Also got the big Watopia poster in my paincave here in Sweden.

I went and obtained the badge, then found out that zwifthub.com doesn’t list the badge? 🙁 Can it be added, please?
