Our favorite Aussie Lama Shane Miller recently shared a fun little video publicizing a Zwift Ride Easter egg:
Video Summary
The Zwift Ride smart frame has an Easter egg printed on the sticker near its bottom bracket:

If you look closely at the bottom, you’ll see the Konami code printed… something anyone who ever played Contra will still remember by heart. (I still remember keying it in at the start of every Contra session back in the late 80’s: up-up-down-down-left-right-left-right-B-A-Select-Start.)
Once you’re riding in game with the Zwift Ride’s controllers or Zwift Play controllers paired, just enter this sequence (which ends with a Z to make it Zwifty) on the controllers, and everyone’s heads will become huge.
Enter it again and heads return to normal size.
It’s worth noting that this “big heads view” is on your screen only, as your Konami code entry only affects your view of the game. It also doesn’t affect in-game physics. Starting a new Zwift activity will also return heads to normal size.
What Else?
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen big heads on Zwift. It first showed up in Zwift on April Fool’s Day 2017, and they brought it back in 2022.
Since this Easter egg is in the game itself, Zwift’s developers could, in theory, change it to do anything they’d like. Perhaps they’ll change it to put us in dino suits, send us to 1989, or let us enter Paperboy mode…?
Your Ideas
What could the Zwift Konami code do that hasn’t already been done in game? Comment with your ideas!

I’m going to assume you HAVE to have the Zwift controller for this and can’t do it with a keyboard etc…?
Yup.
We want mariokart banana skins!
This foolishness still isn’t worth 20 dollars a month, with HUD and the HEADS you’d hardly see the 1985 Atari Graphics!
Atari?
Zwift graphics aren’t that good!
You are right, spinervals was a way better experience and it only cost you $39 per dvd or a trip to the local blockbuster with fingers crossed they have more than one.
Isn’t worth $20 in 2024 whilst riding a 10k bike and knocking back ketones and $5 gels whilst rubbing $70 bicarb onto your thighs.
I did that code a thousand times on contra. There was no “select” in the sequence. Up,up,dn,dn, lr,lr, Ba, ba start.
Select for two players
Which is what I always played!
Good to know. I keep seeing the in articles about the Konami Code and keep thinking “that wasn’t how I remember doing it”. Glad to find out that there was a reason and it’s not like our collective memories of that Sinbad movie that “the man” claims never happened.
p.s. I’ve accepted at this point that it must have never really happened and there isn’t a secret conspiracy to destroy all evidence of it like they did the ET Atari game.
We do not need to go back to 1989; with how fast Zwift is developing, we are already feeling like we are stuck in that year. Zwift management is really testing our patience if they believe we’ll put up with this nonsense for $19.90 without any real updates to the software.
An Easter egg of Konami’s Prop Cycle would be awesome. Rode that so many times in the late 90s
How about an extra or extended coffee?
Please dedicate more time and resources to features that users want instead of this büll$hit.
Since this cheat code is really just enabling a feature that they already have, I wonder if there is a different hidden code for enabling the big-wheels
