Yesterday, Cycling Time Trials (CTT) – the national governing body for time trials in England, Scotland, and Wales – launched the second season of their Winter Time Trial Series on Zwift. This series was hugely popular last winter, and over 1000 riders have already signed up for the first week of racing!
Hayley Simmonds, a TT medal winner at both the European and Commonwealth Games and a former National Road TT Champion, headed up the team running last year’s kickoff series. She says:
“We were blown away by the response to the 2025/26 Winter Series with more than 1000 people signing up for Round 1 alone! Perhaps we shouldn’t have been so surprised by the popularity; the series enabled riders to retain both their fitness and competitive edge over the winter months when outdoor training is more difficult and the race calendar is quiet in the Northern Hemisphere. Indoor racing is an excellent way to stay sharp and prepare for the upcoming season!
Importantly, the series also inspired a lot of riders to compete in outdoor time trials for the first time during 2026. At a time when time trialling events are experiencing a lot of competition from other disciplines, new blood is more than welcome. We hope this Winter Series will be even more popular and inspire people to try a CTT event in 2027.”
This year’s series will be operated by Sigmic Racing on behalf of CTT. Learn all about the series below…
What Makes It Special
This series is organized in a unique way that makes it both flexible and motivating for a wide swath of riders:
- 7 courses with 3 terrains: flat, rolling, and mountain routes appeal to different riders’ strengths, and riders will visit all 7 of Zwift’s main worlds.
- Multiple time slots and race days (see below) so you can fit it into your schedule.
- Two chances to set your best time: the 7-week schedule repeats itself, so you can race the same course again if you want to set a better time.
- 5 Open and Female categories and an overall GC mean everyone has a chance to compete.
- Bikes and wheels are neutralized, so you don’t have to obsess over picking the fastest setup.
- Dedicated results website: Sigmic Racing has created a dedicated website at ctt.sigmic.racing with full series details including registration, race categories, and sign-ups.
Riders can take part in as many or as few events as they wish, but to qualify for the overall General Classification (GC) you must complete all 7 unique routes.

How To Participate
You can just hop into any of the events and race, but if you want to be tracked on the results page, compete for the GC, etc, you should follow the simple steps outlined at ctt.sigmic.racing/register.
GC Competition
There will be five Open and Female Categories (A, B, C, D and E) in the GC, with rankings determined by a rider’s cumulative time across the seven courses. Riders can ride each course multiple times but only their best time will count towards the GC.
Key Rules
- Riders must use their smart trainers/smart bike as their primary power source, and heart rate must be recorded for every ride.
- Categories are determined by your vELO Rating so enter any pen but try to enter the one most suited to your ability. Find your vELO rating here: www.zwiftracing.app.
- Bike frames and wheels are neutralized for these events, so you can ride any setup from your Zwift garage that you’d like. Maybe it’s time to race that new Brompton P Line?
- See complete rules at ctt.sigmic.racing/rules
Questions or Comments?
It’s always fun to see an organization step into Zwift and use the platform effectively, hosting events that reinforce the organization’s mission and connect riders from around the globe. It’s also good to see a thoughtfully designed series structure. Nice work, CTT and Sigmic Racing!
