Canyon Speedmax Individual Time Trial Series Announced

Coinciding with the release of the fast new Canyon Speedmax CF SLX Disc frame in Zwift, Canyon is running the Canyon Speedmax Individual Time Trial series for four consecutive weekends in May. Time trial events will happen on Saturday and Sunday at multiple times, with a workout available before each event to serve as a warmup.

Event Details

The TT events take advantage of Zwift’s iTT abilities, and will take place over 1 lap of Watopia’s 19.6km Tempus Fugit course. We will all be riding the new new Canyon Speedmax CF SLX Disc frame for the events. Make sure you use speedy wheels, too!

40 minutes before each race a 30-minute structured group workout is available to help you warm up for the TT event. All warmup events will take place on Watopia’s Ocean Lava Cliffside Loop.

About the Bike

In late 2020, Canyon overhauled their popular Speedmax TT bike, re-engineering it to create the ideal triathlon bike. That’s the new Speedmax CF SLX.

If you like the new frame, you can purchase it from Zwift’s Drop Shop. (What’s not to like? It is faster than any other TT frame in game, on the flats!) All you need is 891,000 Drops and level 26+ to do so.

The Speedmax is already ridden by many of the world’s top professional triathletes, and now you can ride with some of these athletes such as Jan Frodeno when they host the group warmups and take part in the TT events!

Pro Hosts

Jan is hosting his warmup event on Saturday, May 8th at 11:30AM CEST, followed by undertaking the time trial event himself at 12:10PM CEST. Jan is a German triathlete and the gold medal winner in men’s triathlon at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He’s also a 3-time winner of the Ironman World Championship (2015, 2016, and 2019) and a 2-time winner of the Ironman 70.3 World Championship in 2015 and 2018, so he is quite good.

On the following day (May 9th), fellow German triathlete Boris Stein is hosting a warm-up event at 11:30AM CEST followed by participating in the time trial at 12:10PM CEST.  Boris is another formidable athlete and his roll of honor includes the 70.3 European Championships in 2015 and 2019, plus numerous titles in both full-distance and 70.3 IRONMAN events.

Events for the following weekends are not yet on Zwift’s calendar, but will certainly show up soon. Visit zwift.com/events/tag/canyonspeedmax to see a schedule of upcoming events for the series.

I didn’t know you could swap wheels on event-assigned bikes, I guess you have to show up early to the events to do that? Which wheels will be assigned if you don’t alter them (and how much difference will it make)?

you get to pick your own wheels – i would go for as aero as possible (depending on what level) – heres a link showing fastest wheels: https://zwiftinsider.com/fastest-wheelsets/

Did the warmup and the ITT. Guessing since it is the weekend, and with more ITTs today and Sunday. There waiting till events are done for the weekend. So maybe Monday or Tuesday for the time to process all the data.

Did it twice, first 13th May and then today. No results are showing up in ZwiftPower – But I got the bike – So guess you will get the bike and not the jersey as the kit. But wonder why none of the two rides are showing up in ZP?
