“Seaside Sprint” Route Details (Watopia)
Watopia’s “Seaside Sprint” began as a Rebel Route in August 2019. Zwift made it an official (albeit event-only) route in its February 2020 update. In September of 2026, it became a free-rideable route.
At only 6.3km (3.9 miles) this is the shortest Watopia loop which includes a sprint segment, making it perfect for races that include sprint points or for group rides with interval efforts like Sprintapalooza. As a route, this is the smallest loop on Watopia apart from Volcano Circuit and Volcano Circuit CCW.

This route is quite flat, with the only climbs being quick rollers. So aero rules the day. Get the most slippery frame and wheels you can afford!
Route Description
This clockwise loop begins at the sprint banner at the end of the Julynn Washington Bridge (JWB) between the Esses and Italian Villas. After passing under the banner you will ride over the cobbles of the Italian Villas, hang a right onto the twisty gravel road, then cross the land bridge to our magmatic friend, the Volcano.
Turn right at the fork after the land bridge, climbing up the short pitch into the volcano, and you will find yourself going through the Volcano Circuit banner. The lap counter just after the banner counts down how many laps you’ve got left.
Ride out of the volcano, turn right onto the glass bridge, then another right into the Esses. The Esses roller coaster will spit you out onto the short reverse sprint over the JWB.
That’s one lap… how many more have you got left?
this is an excellent resource for anyone using Zwift, many thanks
These routes descriptions are great. Thanks for taking the time to put them together.
Interestingly the map above looks flatish but the Strava profile, and my experience is there are a lot of rollers.
Yeah I’ll definitely be doing on an all-round setup next time
When I view Zwift Insider pages (on a mobile device) that have course details, there’s not enough guttering on the page when you get to the VeloViewer content. The profile and map capture the touch input, so I can’t scroll down the page.
It would be great if they were a little narrower so I can grab outside them easily to keep scrolling.
Or you could overlay an almost blank div on them (just says something like “tap to interact”) that disappears after an initial touch event and reappears when you touch outside of them. It’s a bit of a ghetto fix, but I’ve done that on a project before where the content didn’t have Google’s nice-ish ‘use two fingers to scroll” thing.
The latest companion app is showing a route badge of 130XP for this one. In game there’s still no badge.
Badge arrives in the next game update I believe.
Not sure if anyone reads this in 2026, but according to the Companion app, Seaside Sprint has a route badge, is that correct?
Not correct. Yet. Badge arrives in the next game update I believe.
Isn’t the sprint the JWB Sprint Reverse?
Yes! Fixed.
Confirming it`s up for grabs now 🙂
Can confirm badge is up for grabs now
In the for-whatever-its-worth category – it appears that this is no longer an Event Only ride. You can just select in the Companion Plan/Add/Routes section and free ride it.
