ZRL Route Design Competition: Vote Now!

A couple of weeks ago, we shared an opportunity for Zwifters to design the route for the final race of the next Zwift Racing League round. In fact, it’s been decided that the final race of each round of the 2024/25 Zwift Racing League season will feature a new community-designed route!

Fifty-one submissions were sent in, and as someone who got to see all of them, I must say there were some really solid routes submitted.

After spending hours looking at each and every proposed route, a panel of judges (including myself) narrowed the field to just three. And now the Zwift community gets to decide which one we’ll race on October 15!

To vote, visit this page on WTRL’s website. Voting is open now and will close Friday, August 23 at 12pm UTC/5am PDT.

The page also includes details for each of the three proposed routes:

Hint: to best understand the proposed routes and their profiles, click to see the ride details for each route above, then scroll along the profile below the animated map to see the direction of travel.

You can see the elevation profile if you click through to the Zwift activity that Eric linked for each route and scroll down to view the Timeline Graph.

Thank you! The activity links were blocked by my adblock, but I was able to access them.

Voted! Love two of them, one not so much. Can’t wait to see which one pulls through!

I was going to submit Innsbruckring Reverse, but then I tried to ride it and realized you can’t turn left at the intersection with the road that connects to the Innsbruck KOM. Sigh. But seriously, why doesn’t this route exist!?!

Be really useful to be able to see the elevation profile on these.

This might be Mobile vs Desktop but there is not a separate graphic with the Profile when viewing on a Mobile Device. I was able to see it partially after removing Power, Cadence, Heart Rate and Speed from the Time line Graph.

Given the number of questions on this, it might be helpful to have a dedicated picture of the Profile for each Route.

Looks like the new route names are the weakest area of those three 😂

The Makuri route name might be OK. Purettsueru is the Japanese word for pretzel, or more like how they try to pronounce it.
