Zwift version 1.117 begins its phased rollout today. This minor update includes a new Canyon road bike, some UI tweaks, and bug fixes. Read on for details!
New Bikes: Canyon Aeroad CFR Alpecin Premier-Tech
The version 1.116 update that dropped two weeks ago included four new bike frames that are all being raced at the Tour de France. Today’s release includes yet another TdF frame, the Canyon Aeroad CFR in Alpecin Premier-Tech colorway. Presumably, this frame didn’t quite make it into the previous release. Better late than never!
The new Canyon Aeroad CFR is rated 3 stars aero, 4 stars weight, and requires level 30+ and 1,750,000 Drops.
As always, watch this space for complete speed test results for the new frame.
New Route Badges
There’s a bit of a trick that lets you see upcoming route badges that are somehow hidden on Zwift’s side. This update added four new badges:
- Twilight Crit
- Mech Isle Mayhem
- What Yumezi Were Lost
- Urumaze
My guess is, we’ll see these new routes (presumably all in Makuri Islands) in game soon.
Release Notes
Zwift supplied these additional release notes:
- The Challenges section in the Home Screen is now renamed to “This Week on Zwift”.
- After completing a Challenge, it will move to the end of the This Week on Zwift section in the Home Screen.
- Challenges on the Home screen now show the number of remaining days until the Challenge ends when within one week of ending.
- Zwifter using cycling speed sensors can now change their tire size under Settings → Hardware.
- Increased the size of the Target Watts field in the Workout HUD.
- Fixed an issue that could cause an incorrect level to be displayed above a nearby rider as they level up.
- Windows: Fixed a crash that could potentially occur after finishing an event.

“Four new bike frames” – not “for new bike frames”. In the starttext.
Would be great if Factor would have a bike in there as well.
And where is X-LAB?
It’s a shame you have to buy a whole new bike to get these colourways. The likelihood of a rider spending $$$ Drops, and then even more Drops and KMs to upgrade the exact same bike, is low leading to pelotons full of identical bikes. Even if you had to buy the colourway, at least let us put it on the original frame that riders have already upgraded.
Yeah… I mean, this Aeroad CFR is technically a different bike than the Aeroad 2024 in Zwift. Different handlebars, basically, so slightly more aero in Zwift.
I like Zwift releasing new versions of bike models as they improve/change, but I would ALSO like to see them make additional colorways available for purchase.
And what I DEFINITELy don’t like is Zwift releasing versions of the exact same bike frame, just in different colors, like they did with the “MyCanyon” thing some months back. That’s not how the Drop Shop/garage is designed to work, so it makes things messy, and doesn’t award people who love a brand and have fully upgraded their bike.
Agreed. When you buy most bikes IRL you get to pick between a few color schemes if not fully custom.
Ahh good to know, I assumed it was just CFR colourway for the 2024
Yeah, I have already upgraded my, My Canyon in the white colour set.
I don’t think I will be getting this one. 🙄🙄
Hi Eric, in your Test Data I noticed a Canyon TT v117 frame, which isn’t mentioned in the Update notes, I assume the v117 refers to it being in Update 1.117, when is it coming ?
It looks like it’s the best climbing TT frame from your data
It’s coming… soon.
It is available in drop shop now
Woohoo… bigger target watt font size in the workout HUD. That was a complaint I’ve had since they changed the workout HUD.
Hmmm. New Canyon with a nice colour. Well, my drops might not be going to Cervelo after all. Looking forward to reading your report, then ignoring it because I like blue.
What about Sworks SL9, is the current version the real Sworks or can we expect an update / fix?
Expect an update that’ll make it slightly faster.
So just an update, not a new bike in the dropshop 😀
So we can start upgrading
Yes, DFVS. In fact, I bought the SL9 yesterday to start upgrading it!
When did Zwift stop giving badges for completed missions?
A year or two ago.
Four new badges: twilight crit, mech isle mayhem, what yumezi were lost, urumaze.
Ah, yes. Added above!
Whats the trick to see them? I have the update but I dont see the new badges.
Click “Just Watch” on the pairing screen, then click to view achievements. It’s an odd long-standing bug.
Shhh, we don’t want them to fix it.
Thanks for that insight. I see the four new routes you mention, the new Paris routes but also some others. That “just watching” view says I’m at 241/255 route badges. Companion app has me at 234 of 237 route badges. 😉
Zwifter using cycling speed sensors can now change their tire size under Settings → Hardware.
Any upside/downside or advantages/disadvantages with tire size changes?
Hey Eric, noticed they put the new Canyon SpeedMax CFR in at some point but I don’t recall seeing it in any of the announcements. Looking forward to your review on this new TT bike! The spreadsheet seems to indicate it’s the new TT King 😉
It is! Goofy that is just showed up in game. I’m confirming with Zwift that it is in fact released… 😬
I bought one, so I hope it is! Been waiting for the next gen TT bikes
They’re advertising it on Facebook so I’m going to assume you can hit the “publish” button on your post about it
Wish it was that easy… problem is, I don’t have a post about it written yet. Didn’t know it was launching this week. 🤷♂️
I have the upgrade but do not see the new badges
