Zwift version 1.109 begins its phased rollout today. This is a very minor update, so all we’re doing is showing the release notes from Zwift…
Launcher Update
Not technically directly tied to the version 1.109 game release, but noteworthy nonetheless, is a launcher update Zwift rolled out today. Notes from Zwift:
Windows
- Reduced incidence of blank or white window when launching Zwift.
- All Zwift files moving forward are written to
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Zwift\by default, instead of My Documents. Look for your FIT files and ZWO workout files in the new location. - Includes a workaround for those impacted by Windows system freezes introduced by a Microsoft security patch. See this thread for details.
- Improved tracking of launcher app issues.
macOS
- Zwift Installer now runs natively on Apple Silicon, without requiring Rosetta for the installation process
- Fixed the “full storage” message so it appears if installing the game app while storage is full.
- Improved tracking of launcher app issues.
Release Notes
Zwift supplied the following release notes:
- Fixed an issue where Zwifters could potentially lose bike upgrade progress when performing multiple teleports.
- Fixed an issue that could cause estimated route completion time to be inconsistent between route cards on the home screen and the route details sidebar.
- Fixed an issue that could cause flickering colors in Makuri Islands.
- Mobile only: Fixed an issue where Zwift would let you log in with your old password after a password change.
- iOS: Stability improvements.
- tvOS: Improved stability when loading Zwift

I’ve had the teleporting thing happen a few times. I thought it was tied to the whole anti-cheating thing that they initiated last fall where, if you coasted too much or did something they thought was taking advantage, your distance accumulation stopped.
Sometimes both bots in the range I want to do are on hillier courses than I want to deal with for a long Z2 day. I’ll choose the one in Watopia, ride with it until we hit the hill and then teleport to the bot up or down until I figure enough time has gone by for the hill to be over then swap back. Sometimes it’s multiple teleports if that one is also on a hill.
While I do like the variety from alternating routes, sometimes I miss the old days of always having Coco on Tempus Fugit with a huge crowd when I just want to grind out some flat distance.
While watching a YT video of the advanced group ZG Stage 4 (from Manuel Essl, just over 1 minute in), I saw an on screen flash of a rider leveling up to level 101. I haven’t seen any article confirming that new levels have been introduced. Was this slipped in as part of this update?
I saw that same video and came here to look for that. It would make sense though, I am halfway through lvl 99, so perfect time for more levels.
I’m already at level 100 luckily. You had better get your last few XP points to level up too.
@Eric Schlange any news on this or was this another thing Zwift included but not put in the release notes. Keen to know what the new levels are and what the new targets for these new levels are for those that have been on level 100 for some time.
Reaching out internally to find out!
Zwift is tracking the level 101 thing internally as a bug, apparently. So new levels haven’t been released yet – Zwift says it’s a display bug only. No riders have actually leveled up to 101 yet.
Thanks Eric, bummer that no new levels yet, but coming Zoon I guess
🤔
That’s a lot of minor updates in a row, hopefully we see a “this season on Zwift” post soon.
I think we will!
I saw a rider level up to level 101 during a groupride today.
Really loving the new roads and climbs, good work Zwift!
Maybe interesting, my dad got stuck in the Zwift update today. Couldn’t skip the update it just was stuck. He was still at launcher 1.14. Updating to the freshly released 1.16 launcher made the Zwift update work again so at last he could do his ride 👍
Only just noticed so may not be related to an update but in the Dirt Series race yesterday, under my mini-map, I only had the short segments showing (like you see if you fan-view another rider), I lost the whole route profile and segment markers. If there is a new setting maybe I have accidentally activated it! Any ideas?
