Tour Fever Returns to Zwift for July & August

Today, Zwift kicks off a series of Tour Fever events that will run throughout July and August, highlighting both the Tour de France and the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift. It’s all centered around Zwift’s much-anticipated Paris expansion, which adds the Tour’s new finishing circuit, including the iconic cobbled climb to the Basilique du Sacré-Coeur de Montmartre (below). Read on for details!

Stage Details

The first three stages are themed around the Tour de France, which happens July 4-26. The final two stages are Watch the Femmes themed, since the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift happens from August 1-9.

Each stage has hourly group rides and regular race events scheduled, or you can get credit for completing the stage on-demand as a solo effort if you complete the route once its stage has begun. To be clear: new Paris routes (denoted with a * below) can be ridden whenever you’d like, but will only award stage completion credit once their stage begins.

Stage 1 (July 6-12)
  • Short Route and Races: Loop de loop de loop* (10.4km long, 45m elevation)
    • Stage 1 races have drafting disabled, so use a TT bike!
  • Long Route: Montmartre Mixer* (27.6km long, 197m elevation)
  • Unlocks: Complete either route and get a double unlock: Tour Fever Socks & Gloves
  • Sign up >
Stage 2 (July 13-19)
Stage 3 (July 20-26)
Stage 4 (July 27-August 2)
  • Short Route and Races: Hell of the North (20.1km long, 241m elevation)
  • Long Route: Ven-Top (21.1km long, 1534m elevation)
    • This is a special L’Etape Femmes event, so finishers receive an exclusive L’Etape Femmes kit unlock
  • Unlock: 500 XP Bonus
Stage 5 (August 3-9)
  • Short Route and Races: La Boucle* (19.2km long, 126m elevation)
  • Long Route: Double Espresso* (33.7km long, 231m elevation)
  • Unlock: Complete either route and get a double unlock: Tour Fever + WTF Kit
  • Sign up >
Make Ups (August 10-16)

If you missed a stage, you’ll be able to ride any of the routes above as on-demand free rides to earn stage credit.

Unlocks and Rewards

Various kits and accessories will be rewarded as you progress through the stages (details above). Click images below for a closer look:

The Ultimate Challenge

“The Ultimate Challenge” is a newish feature Zwift has added to recent major tours. The challenge? Ride all the featured routes, typically for a reward that falls laughably short of justifying your effort.

For Tour Fever 2026, riders who complete 7 of the 10 featured routes will receive a 500 XP bonus. Complete all 10 routes and you’ll earn… drumroll please… the Tour Fever 2026 bucket hat (shown above).

Tour Fever Drops: New Bikes and Wheels

Several new (and fast) bikes and wheelsets have arrived in game along with Tour Fever! These are some of the bikes and wheels pros will be racing in the Tour, including:

Overall, some good things there to motivate me for a while (thanks Zwift!) with the exception of the bucket hat – just another piece of kit to sit in garage. Would have preferred sweat drops or XP for completing all 10 stages.

I agree, it should be both. Gear for the gear hoarding types and then XP/Drops for the usefulness.

There’s a small error in the routes: stage 3 three musketeers route has the distance/elevation of road to sky listed.

I can already ride a route of stage 5 even now, so the note about new routes being available only after the start of thr stage is not correct. But does it count in the ultimate challenge?

Zwift doesnt want us to complete the challenge in a week and then cancel for the rest of the summer, so they will make it drag out as long as possible over multiple weeks. So it makes sense that we dont get stage credit unless the stage has commenced.

Probably difficult to understand for Americans, but ppl go on holiday in summer. I’ll never be able to complete the challenge if rides do not credit towards stages (or at least routes) before the stage starts.

Within the context of what Zwift is trying to accomplish (reducing summer cancellations), it makes sense that they would require the entire month of July plus one week to complete the challenge. I am not saying it is a good thing, or that it benefits users (it doesn’t). But we all have to play by Zwift’s rules if we want to do things like unlock virtual bucket hats. Zwift doesn’t care about your summer holiday; they are aware of it. Which is precisely why they do things they way they do.

Um, just sign up midway through… Actually this one lets you do it in a month without any tricks right? Just either do the fifth quickly or start a little late.

I may or may not have done the second. Non level-locked gloves have been hard to get, man — I was tempted to hit Alpe du Zwift again to get the polka dots. This is lots easier.

Just when I think I’m out… 😉 They’re just trying to make a buck, bless their hearts.

Will the 500XP bonuses be accelerated for riders over level 100? They were not for the recent L’Etape challenge.

Not much to get excited about here. Same kit as last year for TDF and the new Paris routes are just iterations of what’s already there plus Montmartre. IRL TDF is a BIG DEAL. Not so much in Zwift, it seems.

Was quite surprised that the team decided not to include anything relating to the climb portal, especially since that was the biggest part of the Devil kit last year 🤷🤷

Also, am I crazy or is the shortest notice Zwift has even given us for an event of this magnitude 😂 I was convinced something is/was awry with the new course!

Found something strange. Monday evening. Finished “Loop de loop de Loop”, received a Route Complete message, saw a new badge in the collection. 1/5 stage in challenge, 1/10 ultimate. Everything ok.
Tuesday morning. I’m planning to ride the “Montmartre Mixer” in the evening, So to start the day I’m closing one of the three new routes that aren’t part of the tour – “Cirque du Suffer”. Get a Route Complete message, saw a new badge in the collection, but then I find out I got 2/10 in the ultimate challenge and the “montmartre mixer” is marked as completed. At the moment it looks like completing ANY (Cirque in my case) new Paris route closes the next uncompleted route (Mixer in my case) in the challenge and increases the Ultimate Challenge score by 1. Just waiting for the confirmation from the people, who will complete Heart or Toujours routes with only half of first stage done.

Heart of Montmartre and Paris Toujours are not part of the Tour Fever event and thus, will not credit Ultimate Challenge regardless of when they are ridden – they are just new routes in Paris, with badges.

Hi Eric, what does this mean exactly: To be clear: new Paris routes (denoted with a * below) can be ridden whenever you’d like, but will only award stage completion credit once their stage begins.

If i ride the stage before the stage is on, do i get the award later, when the stage is on? Or have i to ride it again while the stage is on to get the award? I‘ asking because i‘ll be in summer holidays

thanks for a clarification

Does that also apply to the stage routes that aren’t new Paris routes? That’s the only thing I can’t figure out…and I am far too lazy to ride an extra Alpe to check 😉

I like the socks, but, now that I have the aero lightning socks, I’m not sure I’ll ever wear anything else again (until they make a different aero sock).

Oh, what I’d give for a color slider on the aero socks. 1000 more power units? Let me get started.

So for the stage 1 Loop de loop de loop with no drafting am I correct in assuming that at Time Trial bike frame as opposed to a road bike will offer the best performance?

Are the longer ride (e.g. Montmartre Mixer) in the stage races or just rides? the shorter route has race in the name and the longer one doesn’t.

Any idea if stage credit is given for completing one of the Tour Fever event routes whilst racing the route in a different series? (e.g. Sisu Tour Race on Road to Sky, which occurs during the same time schedule as the Tour Fever stage)

This week there’s a robopacer running through Casse-Pattes. Can I run this route with the robopacer and be assigned Stage 2 as a complete?

You can free ride all the routes and be credited with the completion as long as the stage has started. My guess would be to firstly check if Stage2 has started in your events list and then just get your timing right by joining the robopacer before the route start in order to be credited with completing the route.

I did the test this morning: from the home page, I entered by clicking on the route badge. Then I joined the robopacer and did almost 2 laps: no route badge, no challenge badge.

I’ll do it again in official mode 😉

Happened to me just now as well. Did full Casse Pattes with robo pacer (24km), but no credit for the stage.

This doesn’t seem to work consistently.

On stage 1 I got the route credit for Loop de Loop de Loop riding this with the robopacer (actually 4.5 laps), but then didn’t get it when riding Montmartre Mixer with a robopacer (about 1.3 laps this time). I thought this was a bug and reported to support, who credited me with the route retrospectively, but said something about only staying the route from the event page.

This morning I rode Casse-Pattes with the robopacer and again got no credit. So I suspect you’re not supposed to get Tour Fever credit this way, and my credit on the first stage was a bug.

Andrea
Andrea

Reply to  James

I believe the bug is in the robopacer in this case. Because I had never ridden Casse-Pattes before and didn’t have the badge for this route. When I completed a full lap with the robopacer, it didn’t even give me the badge or the XP for this route (460 XP).

This morning I ran the route in the event, and it gave me both Stage 2 as completed and the Casse-Pattes route completion with 460 XP.

It is not really a bug with the robopacer.
I had a discussion with the Zwift support on this topic during another event.

The robopacer is a bit complicated concerning route badges and event routes. I will try to explain.
To get a route badge (event routes work exactly the same) while riding with the robopacer you have to ride the course more than once.
At first you have to complete the route til the finish line after you jumped in. Then you keep riding and complete the course in full for the first time. Still no route badge after first completion.
But if you keep riding and complete the course in full for a second time, you get the route badge.

I tested this on several occasions, and it workes like this every time.

On Zwift Companion app it states stage 1 is from 6 July to 17 August and stage 2 from 13 July to 17 August.

If i do route for stage 1 now, you reckon it’ll complete it?

It’s shows date ranges different in app compared to above

Rode Casse-Pattes today from the Tour Fever screen so I could complete stage two. When I got to the top of the Petit KOM, the ride turned left to keep climbing Ventoux instead of going right and down the other side of the Petit KOM to the finish. I realised something had gone wrong after 100m or so and did a u-turn that took me back to Casse-Pattes and I finished it off and rode a bit extra. I did not get the credit for completing the Tour Fever stage. Curiously, someone (who I don’t know) was riding with me until Petit KOM when they fell back so I looked up their ride and they did not get misdirected by Zwift. Anyone else had this?

There’s some weirdness with these new routes going on… rode crepe escape yesterday by joining the robopacer on the route. Luckily I joined some 2 km before the beginning of the new lap, but ditched the slow robopacer at point and rode the full loop on my own. Never got the route badge (and thus no tour fever completion), so I guess I’ll have to do that again. Ugh.

Thanks! So I can just got to my scheduled workout, select Casse-Pattes as the route, do my workout and if the course isn’t finished by the end of the workout, keep free riding until it’s done, and that’ll tick it off?

I don’t have to do anything odd for it to work?
