Last week’s Tiny Races were topsy-turvy affairs with rollercoaster roads, but two riders managed to keep their wits about them and score perfect overall wins, taking 1st place in all four races! Congrats to B rider Dan Seaman (BAMF) in Zone 3 and D rider Tosin Akinmusuru (NZBRO) in Zone 2!
We often feature race videos from race winners, but this week we’re featuring a video from a brave competitor – a C rider who raced against the A and B riders, just for the challenge of holding on! And he managed to do so, until race #4.
Kudos to Rob for pushing himself to the limit. “If you want to get faster, race faster riders.”

This Week’s Route(s): Worlds Prep
With UCI Esports Worlds coming in February, we’ve chosen some routes that will serve as good training for anyone taking on the punchy 3-race Worlds competition.
Not racing Worlds? Come out anyway: there’s enough Tiny Race suffering for all!

- Race 1: Queen’s Highway (1 lap, 5.8km)
A pitchy little loop, with a drawn-out final sprint that’s slightly uphill. This one is all about timing: modulating your power to efficiently maintain momentum on the short climbs, activating your powerup for maximum effectiveness… and where should you start your final sprint?- Powerup: Draft Boost
- Race 2: Richmond UCI Reverse (4km, ends on straightaway after Libby Hill descent)
A tough route with two gut-punching climbs. Start with a descent, then a longish climb. Grab a powerup at the banner, then it’s a quick descent into a steep (20%+!), short kicker. Grab another powerup at the Libby Hill KOM banner, then descend Libby’s cobbles and end on the paved, straight downhill that follows. Climbers will get away on the last kicker, but bigger riders may just be able to chase them back!- Powerup: Burrito x2
- Race 3: Muir and the Mountain (5.1km, ends atop Titans Grove KOM Reverse)
This will be a topsy-turvy start through the uphill rollercoaster of Titans Grove which includes a ride-through tree and Jarvis the perenially unlucky bear. It’s all going to come down to the final ~90-second climb up the KOM, though.- Powerup: none
- Race 4: Watopia Mountain 8 (5.67km, ends on bridge)
The last of this week’s routes takes you through the Ocean Boulevard tunnel and past the windmills before attacking the base of the Epic KQOM Reverse for the longest single climb of our Tiny Race set. The finish line is on a false flat, on the bridge after the initial snaking climb (see photos).- Powerup: none

ZwiftPower Results
Zwift displays preliminary race results in game when you cross the line, but points are computed after all four races are finished, with final results on ZwiftPower. (We have to do some data processing on our side to compute results, so if your rankings don’t show up right away, be patient.)
Riders will earn points based on finish position in each of the 4 Tiny Races. The category winner of each week’s series is the rider with the most points across their timezone’s 4 races. Here are the links for each timezone’s results on ZwiftPower:
- Zone 1 (9am GMT/4am EST/1am PST)
- Zone 2 (3pm GMT/10am EST/7am PST)
- Zone 3 (9pm GMT/4pm EST/1pm PST/Sunday 8am AEDT)
Rules
Tiny Race rules are simple. Four races, four rules:
- You must have a ZwiftPower account, because final results are processed by ZwiftPower (learn how to sign up)
- No skipping then returning. These races are meant to be raced as a set of 4. If you need to leave early, that’s fine… but once you miss a race in your hour’s set of 4, don’t come back and race another or you’ll be disqualified from that race since you rested while others were racing! (Example: racing only races 1 and 2 is fine. Racing 1, 2, and 4 is not – you will be DQ from race 4. And if you race 2, 3, and 4, you’ll be DQ from all those races, since you skipped race 1!)
- Heart rate monitors are required for podium finishers
- ZPower/Virtual power is not allowed. Smart trainer/smart bike or power meter required.
Join a Chat & Chill Cooldown
Immediately following each hour’s racing, we’ve scheduled 30-minute “Chat & Chill” events where riders from all categories can spin out their legs together and have some fun chatting about how it all went down. Find them at zwift.com/events/tag/tinyraces.

That was probably the most brutal route-selection ever 😓 I used the same tactics as the previous few weeks: Make sure to be totally empty before race 4 😆
I’m glad you said that. I was coming here to ask if anyone else thought it was really, really hard today? I was actually very close to quitting after race 1, then race 2, then race 3. But I knew my best chance of a top result today was on race 4 and here’s why…

I had nothing left at the top of Titans nor on that last climb up the Epic KoM. I was just glad nobody else did either 😂
I went way to deep on Epic KoM, so I actually thought that you guys would get me in the sprint on the flat section because I had nothing to sprint with 🙂
It certainly was a nasty quartet, but a great workout, providing I’m still alive tomorrow! 😉

thanks for organising these races.
Fun to rewatch! Thank you for some great racing. That last hill in race 2 had me on the vomit limit..
