Eliel Fruit Fundo Announced for March 26

Just announced: a one-day fondo event celebrating apparel brand Eliel Cycling‘s new fruit-themed line. The collection was designed in collaboration with cycling personality the Vegan Cyclist (Tyler Pearce), who is also riding in all three events—one for each distance.

Event Details

Fruit FUNdo events are scheduled for Saturday, March 26th, with events happening every 2 hours throughout the day.

The category you choose determines which route you ride:

Category A: 100 mi (161 km) – Pineapple Route

Category B: 60 mi (100 km) – Strawberry Route – March 23

Category C: 25 mi (40 km) – Blueberry Route – March 25

See all Fruit FUNdo events at zwift.com/events/series/eliel-fruit-fundo

As part of the challenge, the Vegan Cyclist will be riding all three routes on Saturday. Watch him live on his YouTube channel, or join him in game! He is signed up for the following ride times/categories:

Recon Rides

On March 16, 21, 23, and 25 the Vegan Cyclist will be leading hourlong recon rides to help you get the lay of the virtual land. Hop in and get prepared for the big day!

Total elevation on the routes is not what I expected. I was expecting it to be lap elevation * laps. It is the lap elevation.

Thanks Eric! Appreciate all you do! but elevation for A ride does not look right. isn’t it 4 x ~994 = 3976? Seems like what is posted above is for 3 laps.

Won’t be near my bike on the 26th. As a Vegan, I would love to own both the virtual and IRL KIT. Can I get the virtual kit by doing a recon ride? And am I still able to purchase the real kit?

What a shame you can only unlock the kit on the 26th, I’m a shift worker and doubt I’ll be able to do one of the rides that day…. 12hr shifts!

Looks like there are rides every couple of hours for 24 hours, so hopefully you’ll be able to do one, even if it’s just the short one.

If you can’t make it…you can sign up and leave your computer on to join while you are not at home. Then finish later? Not much fun, but you’d still get the Jersey if you finish the milage.

Hi Eric – loving your work on this site. Again appreciate this isn’t your event but unsure why they haven’t put any information about what page they might ride? 1-5 watts/kg is a broad range and I’m looking for a chilled 100k for my first of the year not the usual race scramble!

Hi Chris, this is basically the same as for ToW –> It’s not a race / Everybody goes as he likes / For sure you will find buddies taking it easy to group up with them

The shorter routes (40.3k) may have the numbers you’ll need to find a group.

This is a Fondo, though. These really are 1.0-5.0w/kg rides, and with the 43 total riders for the long Pineapple Route at 6 am CT tomorrow, I am expecting to basically be alone well behind the competitive sorts for hours.

Love the in game kit, certainly one of the most interesting color combos/designs out there. I’d even thought about picking up the real kit, though a bit pricey and despite the email link saying it’s “discounted”, the pricing appears to be identical to their regular product line pricing.
