Route Description

Starting from Yumezi’s main start pens, you turn right to head uphill toward the castle. This punchy little climb will quickly thin the herd in a race, so make sure you’re warmed up and ready before the flag drops!

Once you turn right to head into the castle’s market area, you’ve got a nice stretch of flats and descents taking you all the way through the Country Sprint. Rest up a bit in this section, because there are plenty of slack climbs and a finishing effort up the road.

Through Village Onsen, then up through the Fishing Village, you’ll turn left to begin the Temple KOM. But this is a much shortened version, as you’ll turn the next right to hit the cutoff road that takes you across to a descent of the other side, back to the castle area. Then you loop back and turn right to begin the Temple KOM again.

Does it feel a bit like you made a wrong turn and now you’re back on the right road? That’s probably where Zwift’s James Bailey got the name for this route…

This time up the Temple KOM, you’re staying on the climb all the way to the top. This is the finishing climb for the route, and it’s going to be a banger in a race!

The route ends at the Temple KOM arch at the giant mystical tree. Sprint to the arch, then soft pedal the descent for a few extra kilometers and a cooldown. You’ve earned it!
