Route Description

Route profile by ZwiftHub – the place to plan and track your route achievements!
The route begins at the start pens heading east (away from the marina) and takes you immediately onto a false flat. Enjoy it while you can: it’s only going to get steeper!
The timed KOM begins 1.9km after the start. From here, you have 9.5km and 760m to the Ventoux Half KOM banner – exactly half the length (and almost exactly half the elevation) of the full Ventoux KOM.
As you climb, you’ll see road art. Some bits are more helpful/obvious than others:
Once you pass through the Ventoux Half KOM arch, your route is finished. You can stop there, but if you keep pedaling, you’ll keep climbing up Ventoux. You also have the option of turning left right after the KOM arch in order to make a hairpin turn and head downhill (free miles/XP).

hi@all, i think with 3W/kg it might take you about 50min, 36min seems not realistic to me.
br juergen
I agree, same for the 2W/kg. I did it at 2.5 average and finished in 59 minutes 😅 Algorithm somewhere is off, zwift also thought it would take me 45 minutes (and usually that estimate is quite good for easy riding).
Hi there,
I just finished this route with exactly 2w/kg (170w average @85kg) using the and it took me precisely 1 hour 10 minutes and 56 seconds on the Aethos S-Works (lvl1) with the Lightweight Meilensteine on them.
Had to adjust the route metrics on the backend… now the time estimates are accurate!
thxs!
Is the 200 XP really correct on this?
Yup. 10km long, so 200xp. (Route badge XP is based strictly on route length… not on elevation or anything else.)
Oh wow. I never realized that. I thought it was a combination of length and elevation. Effort, duration, something beyond just length.
If I rode this route and only saw 200 xp at the end, I would be a little disappointed if I didn’t know.
But you can get another 200XP by making a u-turn and letting the bike coast back down while you stretch and do some mobility exercises 😉
If I ride the whole VenTop route, would I get the Ven10 badge too?
You have to pick ven-10 as your route when you start a free ride from the route chooser, or join an event that has ven-10 set as it’s route in order to earn the badge. It’s not enough just to cover the same ground. Once you earn the badge you are free to continue up if you want, but you can’t earn another route badge. If you pick the ventop route then you will not earn the ven-10 route badge.
I think Zwift missed it with this route, if they wanted a Ven-10, they should have that route finish at the top, not 1/2 wayish up.
How exactly would a 10km route finish at the top of a 20km climb?
Start where the new route finishes. Of course, that would give riders a 20k descent from only a 10k climb, and they would have a very small starting pen (the dirt road) if they wanted to use it in a race.
Lots of people would start the route, hang an immediate U-turn, then enjoy the free 10km descent. Over and over and over again.
on a road bike, free miles for upgrading!!
by starting 10km into the climb.
But the last 10km of the Mont Ventoux are far less challenging than the first 10 km
I continues to complete the whole climb, however the Strava segment for the climb is wrong and shows only 737 meters of climbing
That’s a Strava issue they need to fix, where verified Strava Zwift segments are using the real world GPS data for elevation instead of Zwift data. Strava knows about it, it’s just a question of whether they are going to fix it.
Hard way to earn 200 XP
Can’t wait for Half Alp, Half Pretzel, and Half Century. Although it may not come soon. Odds are 50/50. 🤣
I agree, but I think we may be half right.
Did the ven-10 yesterday.
125kg at 210w ftp so that took a while(1h 42m).
Bike was Specialized Aethos S-Works with level 1 with Roval Alpinist wheels.
However at the end I only climbed 783m.including lead-in (33m climb).
Which was good as I was already at high BPM.
Maybe zwift software decided to give me a slightly easier challenge (did La reine in the past but never the full Ven-Top).
Just tried Ven 10 Route and it’s the Ven Top route….
Yes, Ven 10 is a hacked Ven Top route. When I finished it, the turn around button wasn’t responsive.
Just completed this route today. Nearly rage quit about 25% of the way in. I did a little recon prior to riding and knew what my expected time finish should be around my paltry 2.0 wkg. Around the 2nd or 3rd gate I started doing math in my head. Now I should include that math isn’t my thing when I’m at rest. What I didn’t realize but eventually figured out was even though the route is called Ven-10, I was not going to go through 10 gates. Maybe Eric can contact Zwift and have them rename this route Ven-5. It would have saved me from attempting math while I’m trying to hold threshold.
It’s 10km. Not 10 gates.
I realize it’s part of the La Reine route, but IMHO Zwift needs to create a Ven-15 route to Chalet Reynard without the Petite KOM “warm up.”
