Completing the Challenge
You must be level 10 or higher before you can enter the Tour Italy challenge.
To enter, simply select it as your challenge from the menu screen (hit “T” in-game, then click the challenge image at the top-right to see your current challenge information and/or switch to a new challenge.) Then ride 2000km and you’re done!
What’s the prize?
A brand-new (virtual) Pinarello F8 Dogma! You’ll actually get the bike at around the 90% completion mark, when you hit Treviso, home of Pinarello Bicycles.
About the Pinarello Bike
Prior to this challenge only a select few Zwifters got to ride a Pinarello, because the Pinarello Dogma 65.1 bike was available to early beta testers (called the “Pinarello Dogma” in game). This is a different Pinarello, though–the F8 is a little lighter than the 65.1, completing the Alpe climb 17 seconds faster in our speed tests. Although it’s a nice piece of virtual kit, the F8 is not a terribly fast bike in game–slower even than the Zwift Aero which is unlocked at level 13, and the Canyon Aeroad 2021 unlocked at level 10.

I recently finished the 3 challenges and earned both a Tron bike and a Pinarello, which I both parked in the bicycle storage 🙂 . What is the story with the locked 4th challenge?
The locked 4th challenge is one all us veteran Zwifters wish would go live right away! Not sure why Zwift hasn’t created another one…
I just recently leveled up to 10 and unlocked the Italy challenge where do I find it. I am using an iPad and I went to my menu screen and looked for it but I cannot find it. Any help would be appreciated. I love this site
From the menu in game, tap near the top-right where there’s an image of whatever current challenge you’re in. That brings up the challenge picker.
Surely a TDF?
I should have read this post first… Was surprised when I got the bike well before I finished the challenge. Thought I’d completed some other challenge I wasn’t aware of for a moment. It’s a niggle, but giving the bike 90% of the way through the challenge, while clever from the perspective of getting the bike when you get to Pinarello’s home town, kinda lessens the motivation to complete the challenge. I’ll still do it… After all I only have ~200km left… But the completion won’t be quite as rewarding for not getting the bike at the end.
I was just thinking the same…. was contemplating what to do today and thought “oh I’ve got 50km left on this challenge” then found out there’s nothing at the end…. think I’ll use my riding time wisely and go up the Alpe again…. bit disappointing… just a hat or gloves could have been a nice touch…
Well, that was a cool surprise today… although the F8 is a brick lol!
On swift says I was unlocked for the Tour of Italy. I cannot start. Can somebody helping on the connection. Thanks a lot Pino
How about a French Challenge and get us a decent bike at the end for a change. The bikes in California and Italy have been terribly disappointing.
By choosing another challenge dose it kick you out of Mt. Everest towards the Tron bike?
No, you can even change challenge mid-ride every time there is a hill, and then switch back to Italy for the descent 🙂
It does stop your progress until you switch back, though….
Ik krijg steeds melding you have unlocked pinarello
