We announced the Haute Route Watopia 2021 events back in early January, but registration just opened today for all the events happening this weekend!
Visit zwift.com/hauteroute to see event details and sign up.
You can also sign up via the Companion app, the same way you’d sign up for another other Zwift event.
Looking for event details including routes, prizes, and unlocks? See our Haute Route Watopia 2021 homepage.
Time limit?
ZwiftPower has a time limit of 24 hours for an event. That’s about all you need to worry about.
Ha. I can handle that. Thanks!
Is it possible to simultaneously complete this event and do a workout in erg mode?
Funny, I’ve seen this question a few times today. Here’s what I replied to the last person who asked…
Zwift doesn’t do ERG mode in events. But you CAN hack it, by using another device to control your trainer in ERG mode.
So you pair your trainer as a power source in Zwift, but not as a controllable trainer. Then use another device (your phone or bike computer, typically) to control your trainer in ERG.
Thanks!
In my case, i ask because I was hoping to make one of those rides be mostly recovery.
Now that I see that the bike is a dud, I may not do any of the rides, and definitely won’t be doing all three.
Is there a tutorial somewhere on YT how to do that using for example wahoo element bolt?
Do you have to start at the event start time (4 AM PST for me for example)
You can sit in the start pens and start later if you want – you just won’t have anyone to ride with.
There are multiple times for each stage in a day, on the hour mostly.
Any news on the “Colnago V3Rs” bike? I’m told it will appear in the drop shop with a new update before this Friday.
Yup. And I’ll test it once it’s in game!
I would have expected the Colnago would be an assigned bike, but I don’t see that listed either on Zwift or on ZwiftPower. There was no assigned bike for Haute Route France in September, although events with bike sponsors typically do.
It’s available for purchase now! 2/3 stars, and customizable color (although primarily black)
I’m gonna use the first round to get my Mega Pretzel badge, after doing the Uber with y’all last weekend!
Hope it works, the companion shows it is the route for the event, so it should work?
I think we will not get the route badge because it’s only a modified and shorter version of the mega pretzel
I disagree, Chris. If you keep riding to the end of the route you should get a badge. That’s how past events have worked at least.
That’s right Eric. I meant you won’t get the badge if you stop at the finishline of the event after km 55
Expect for few short rises on the second route, the pretzel, after event finish if it was normal it is mostly down or flat back to normal route finish. Good cool down to get ready for third route. Starts Thursday afternoon for those who are in western Americas or Hawaii time zones on the sign in page but still route closes after 24hrs after first time slot goes off.
I rode over the top of the Epic KOM and can confirm you do get the Pretzel Route Achievement badge. I usually warm down anyway for 10-15 mins so it really was a no-brainier to keep rolling.
Pushed on to get my mega pretzel badge last night. Was pretty tough doing 50km solo having done the first 57km at event pace. Also starting at the start pend makes the route 111km. Luckily I was descending the volcano when the laptop battery ran out, so I could run upstairs for the power lead without stopping
I selected my times for Haute Route. How can I confirm this? Thks
They’ll show up in the Companion app. Just slide left to scroll through your signed up events.
Can I ride in erg mode?
Yes, if you let another app like TrainerRoad control your smart trainer.
Can we change bike in the jungle?
in case anyone was wondering, you use your own wheels with the frame
JUST saw this so what are (Eric) and peoples thoughts? Eric I noticed the big wheels are only 5 seconds slower on the climb but much faster on the flats I see an argument for what the 858s foe everything? Or other choices I have 808s, 3.4, …
Hey Eric, I’m hearing a lot of mixed info about this… if you keep riding say the second Haute Route ride (pretzel), do you get the Pretzel badge? Thanks!
I rode the second stage and continued back to downtown. I can confirm, I got the badge.
After finishing stage 2, I road the rest of the pretzel route but didn’t get the badge. Is that a glitch or planned by Zwift?
Glitch. Others got the badge.
Is Zwiftpower always this slow to come up with a GC? Zwift.com says results should be posted here: https://www.zwiftpower.com/league.php?id=660 but for most riders there hasn’t been an update since stage 1.
Glad it’s not just me that its not showing up for ! The women’s GC seems to be updated now though, I think zwiftpower has been struggling with the explosion of activities they have to process nowadays, a couple of months ago it was taking days for individual race results to be processed so it is improving
I now see the page showing it has been last updated 19 hours ago (think that’s only the second or third update since the start of the series) but it won’t load any results. For me this is the first time I’ve been interested enough to look at any GC on Zwiftpower so I can’t tell if this is business as usual or not though if it is I’m opting out of any GC objective. I thought Zwiftpower had been transfered to Zwift’s own servers so they could use all the money we’re paying them to keep things up and running. This is disappointing.
Given how this event was advertised, “See how you compare on GC”, the lack of up to date GC board is very poor. What is worse though is the silence from Zwift to those who want some news. If they have a problem then let us know or at least tell us you’re onto it. It has certainly tainted the event for me.
