“Knickerbocker” Route Details (New York)
New York’s “Knickerbocker” covers the same roads as the Astoria Line 8, with the KOM thrown in for good measure. (A Knickerbocker is simply a New Yorker, although the word itself has a long and interesting history.) This is the second-longest route on the NYC course.

Route Description

Route profile by ZwiftHub – the place to plan and track your route achievements!
On ground level, this course is rolling, curvy, and scenic, allowing riders to enjoy the classic sites of Central Park. But don’t get too comfortable, as Zwift has thrown the forward KOM (.8 miles, 6.4%) into this idyllic setting. Get ready to push up gradients that top out at 17%!

As of 1/21/21 route appears to be broken.
Still is broken
Hi, I rode the Knickerbocker this morning and it worked ok for me as I receieved the badge.😀
I’m at 26Km and its never-ending!!
I received the badge at 32,6 km.
Worked today. Stats were 22.7km 376m.
I went over 22 miles, no badge. New York City, or Bug City ??

I stayed on the correct route and rode 17.6 with no route completion. It’s definitely not working. When I looked on Zwift Companion app it had me going over a same section in the beginning twice that was not on the regular course but I didn’t do that on the actual course itself. I earned that badge!
Wich bike is the best bike for the knickerbocker-route?
Probably Tron overall given the time spent on the KOM. If climbing is your strength and you’re gasping to hang on on flat stretches, I’d avoid using heavy discs for “aero” setup and instead go with the Enve 7.8’s or DT Swiss 62’s because there are no flats–constant rollers.
Not exactly sure what you (several people in the comments below) mean by saying the route is “broken”, but maybe the issue is that some people are spawned ahead of the lap banner and thus need to make a couple of U turns to go through the lap banner before starting the route. Otherwise, they’ll end up riding 1.99 laps before having the badge (and the full Strava segment) completed.
Anyway, I somehow wish the “Knickerbocker Pens to Banner” Strava segment was the one used in the Zwift Insider leaderboard, so we could have it logged even if we do a 1-lap race… 😉
I really hate that the Tour de Zwift routes are not registering on this veloviewer Zwift tracker. This is the second route in a row that I’ve intentionally rode to get the veloviewer route completed. I’m about to abandon this tracker bc it’s just not motivating any more.
Yes, it is annoying that you’ll need 2 lap races/events for these.
That includes e.g. the “Volcano Climb” route, “Watopia Figure 8” and the “Mountain route”. I’ve done plenty of races in them, but those logged in VV ZI leaderboard are just easy solo rides…
Why is there no race like a champ stage 4 available on 1st march
