About ZwiftGPS
Developed by Andy Lee and powered by Zwift Insider, ZwiftGPS maps your current position in game, as well as the position of your friends. Clicking a Zwifter shows you the current speed, ride time, wattage, and more.
ZwiftGPS also works with your Zwift ride history and Strava account to pace yourself based on past activities!
It is optimized for use on a second monitor or a mobile device.

Frequently Asked Questions
I’m only seeing myself, but none of the people I follow.
First, make sure people you follow are currently riding! If they are, check and make sure your account isn’t set as a private account, which seems to disable being able to see friends’ locations on course.
Will this show the correct map if I use the world tag hack to ride in an off-schedule world?
Not at this time, since the Zwift API does not tell us which world you are in.
What do the different colored rider dots mean?
The colors are used to display rider w/kg ranges (0-1 W/Kg = grey, 1-2 W/Kg = blue, 2-3 W/Kg = green, 3-4 W/Kg = yellow, 4-5 W/Kg = orange, 5-6 W/Kg = red)
Are there privacy issues we should be concerned about here?
We don’t think so. The app only uses the data made public by Zwift’s API. Zwift has a “private account” option which presumably locks much of this data down, although we have not tested this.
Updates
- 5/15/17: connecting to Strava now works on iPhone/iPad
- 4/24/17: Strava live segments added, plus a world chooser. Details >
- 3/11/17: Better zooming, and there’s also a button (bottom-right) to make the map follow you once you’re zoomed in.Rider fill color is now based on Watts/kg:
0-1 W/Kg = grey
1-2 W/Kg = blue
2-3 W/Kg = green
3-4 W/Kg = yellow
4-5 W/Kg = orange
5-6 W/Kg = red
After 6 W/Kg, it starts flashing between white and red, and the flashing gets faster as it goes ever higher. You can click/tap on a rider to see more stats (distance / speed / power/ heartrate etc).In Chrome on Android, you can double-tap to switch to full screen (hides the browser bar and other chrome). In Android you can also “Add to Home Screen” to get a more app-like experience. - 3/7/17: changes to polling optimizations to solve problems with rider positions not updating consistently. Additional changes include rider name styling to improve readability, addition of Feedback links.
I attempted to use ZwiftGPS on the Tour of London this morning and could not get it to show myself at all. I did select the event in the interface. I’ve not had this issue with PACK group rides. Ideas?
Im having a problem with zwiftGPS – it will no longer load my previous rides, or display any strava segment times. One day it just stopped working, maybe about a month ago. It asks me to log into strava almost every time, and to enter my zwift ID almost every time, which it never used to do, and then it just gets stuck on the loading activities screen (As per screenshot) I have tried the following: – Opting out, and then opting back in to zwift GPS in my Zwift account settings – Revoking access to zwiftGPS in strava, and… Read more »
Hi, I have Zwift GPS working and I find it great, but when looking at the stats of a rider speed and distance, it show in miles and mile per hour. Is there by any chance, a way to display km and km/h?
I follow all the steps correctly and it says rides from Strava are loading but nothing ever is loaded… anyone else having this issue (it did work about 3 months ago for me so I know I’m doing the steps right) ….
Would it be possible to show strava live segmet KOM instead of your own PR?
ZwiftGPS used to work very well, but lately it fails 30-40% of the times I ride. There’s nobody on the map. Sometimes it works on the warmup and fails when I’m joining an event. Sometimes it fail but suddenly starts working when I’m almost done with the ride. I have no connection issues (Zwift works fine). Hoping this issue will be resolved.
Same here. It seems to be a 50/50 shot whether it works or not lately. If it does work, buddies will disappear halfway through a ride. Something has changed, and it was doing this before the huge surge of new Zwifters.
Lately I have managed to make ZwiftGPS work most of the time, and it appears that it is more likely to work if I:
So give it a try and see if you experience the same…
I see nobody, not even myself. Once or twice when I opened the app I did see myself and one or two friends but usually nada. I am in the right world and viewing while actively riding. I am fairly new to zwift so it very well could be something that I am doing, or more likely not doing.
Happening to me. It was working a week or so ago but has just stopped. I’ve tried restarting, reconnecting, training rides, regular routes, and nothing seems to pick me up anymore. Any thoughts on how to fix this? thanks.
Is anyone maintaining this program anymore it seems to fallen
into a non working condition………will not work anymore
The app seamed to work for me the few times I tried it.. kind of cool.
It would be nice if the maps were better though. Currently they are very low detail.
This is hopeless. It asks for my Rider I.D, despite displaying the correct one. It keeps telling me I need to opt in on Zwift connections. Every device I look at says I have opted in. I’ve tried disconnect/reconnect/disconnect/reconnect but nothing works. Forget the whole thing
Zwift GPS is great when it works (most of the time), not so much when it doesn’t (some of the time). Problem is, it is hit or miss for sure. When it is good I can see where I am on the course I am riding, the times when it doesn’t work I can select the worlds that I want to view but there does not seem to be a live update showing where I or anyone that I follow is.
Used to work very well long ago, but now it’s one of the glitchiest apps I’ve ever used. Doesn’t work half the time. Shows me random people I’m not following. May or may not show me. May or may not show my friends. Might not work for 50 minutes and then suddenly it starts showing me on the map. Almost useless now…
Used to work great but not anymore. It shows the wrong world and it seems i’m not logged in because its not showing my location. I’ve tried the WEB version but same issue, wrong world and not showing me or friends.
I use the gps feature whenever I ride on Zwift, but it has been some time since it has been working. Just wondering if there is something up with my setup (it look like it is not just me) or are you doing maintenance?
How can I use the ghost tool to race a previous ride of mine?
I can see a ghost icon on the screen shot above but how do you get that screen?
If the “ghost tool” your referring to is a feature included in Zoffline then your likely out of luck as Zoffline redirects web calls to Zwift to a Zoffline server on your local network or PC. I think ZwiftGPS is getting caught in the redirection so couldn’t work as the data ZwiftGPS needs is on the Zwift servers.
This is my suspicion but seems to be validated during my testing.
Andy, would it be possible to add the missing maps in ZwiftGPS? I’m thinking about France, Paris, Crit City and Bologna. Please! 🙂
It was added, now all maps are there.
I would like to see the avg power
I’m not seeing the option to Strava anymore???! Anyone else experiencing the same?
I don’t see Strava on ZwiftGPS either.
The Strava feature disappeared some months ago. Maybe it was the reason why zwiftgps worked so seldomly? Now it has been very stable for a while.
But I always liked the feature, seeing my own PRs, and I wish it came back (if it can work without crashing zwiftgps).
Just joined Zwiftgps…today’s ride showed in Strava but did not in my Garmin Connect app…how do I fix this?
keeps asking me to opt in even though I’m opt in already
Now ZwiftGPS works every time! Sometimes it just takes a minute or two until I show up on the map, but it is there eventually.
People I follow don’t always show up though – it seems a bit random whether they show up or not.
Sadly the “PR ghosting” feature has disappeared…
Does anyone know if this will come back at some point or if the developer gave up on this? E.g. was it some issue with the Strava API causing trouble?
Would be nice to be able to store the user id in the url then bookmark it, to avoid having to remember the user id between sessions.
waiting for the Strava Live Segment Integration Bugfix. Why isn‘t it working anymore? It was very nice feature 👏
Is zwiftgps still being supported?
