Important Note Re: Pen Enforcement
This week (January 7), Zwift enabled pen enforcement for the first time (read more). That means your racing score is checked when you attempt to enter the start pen, and if your score is too high for your selected category you’ll be forced to choose again.
If you change categories partway through your set of 4 Tinies, you’ll be out of contention for the overall win. So choose your race 1 start pen wisely! (If you’re on the cusp of two categories, you may want to pick the higher one.)
January 11th Routes: Dirty Racing
This week’s races are all in Watopia, and each route features a key dirt section.
Race 1: Serpentine 8 (5.5km ends on rise climbing out of Mayan cutoff) This route is all over the place in terms of road surfaces: tarmac, dirt, wood, stone… it’s got it all. But the big question is, who has the punch to finish in front on the final kick? Powerup: none |
Race 2: Volcano Flat Reverse (5.5km, ending atop Dirty Sorpressa) It’s all about the final ~50 seconds, when we hit the snaking Dirty Sopressa climb up to the Italian Village. You’ll have a steamroller to help make the full gas dash up the dirt a bit faster, but be sure to time it well! Powerup: Steamroller (1x) |
Race 3: Watopia Flat Route (5.23km, ends at bridge after Fishing Village) Riders will need to decide if they attack early on the ramp out of the ocean tunnel onto the dirt… or sit in and wait for the pack sprint finish. Powerup: none |
Race 4: Jungle Circuit Reverse (6.289km, ends at Jungle Arch) This mostly downhill race covers just the lead-in of the Jungle Circuit Reverse route, which includes the rope bridge. Powerup: none |
What are the Tiny Races?
Our innovative Tiny Race format features four short back-to-back races within one hour. Each race is usually 4-7km long, so expect a big VO2 workout!
You earn points based on your finishing position in each race. The overall win goes to whoever earns the most points across all four races.
Congrats to PERC Coffee prize winner Collin Snyder (DIRTY MITTEN), who won the free bag of beans for January 4th’s races. Email [email protected] to claim them!

FRESH TINY VIDS
ZwiftPower Results
Zwift displays the finish order in game when you cross the line, but points are computed after all four races are finished, with final results on ZwiftPower. (We have to do some data processing on our side to compute results, so if your rankings don’t show up right away, be patient.)
Riders earn points based on finish position in each of the 4 Tiny Races. The category winner of each week is the rider with the most points across their zone’s 4 races. Here are the links for each zone’s latest results on ZwiftPower:
Rules
Tiny Race rules are simple, but still every week ~10% of our racers get disqualified. Don’t let that be you! Four races, four rules:
- You must have a ZwiftPower account, because final results are processed by ZwiftPower (learn how to sign up)
- No skipping then returning. These races are meant to be raced as a set of 4. If you need to leave early, that’s fine… but once you miss a race in your hour’s set of 4, don’t come back and race another or you’ll be disqualified from that race since you rested while others were racing! (Example: racing only races 1 and 2 is fine. Racing 1, 2, and 4 is not – you will be DQ from race 4.)
- Heart rate monitors are required.
- Smart trainer/smart bike or power meter required. ZPower/Virtual power is not allowed.
Join a Chat & Chill Cooldown
Immediately following each hour’s racing we’ve scheduled 30-minute “Chat & Chill” events where riders from all categories can spin their legs together and chat about how it all went down. Find them at zwift.com/events/tag/tinyraces.
Zwift Insider Kit Unlock
