Tiny Race Series Details: Current Routes, Recent Results, and More

November 9th Routes: 2 Loops, a Punch, and Some Fun

This week has two 1-lappers to start off the hour, then two custom-length routes to finish.

Congrats to PERC Coffee prize winner David Henderson (WEz), who won the free bag of beans for November 2’s races. Email [email protected] to claim them!

Race 1: Queen’s Highway (1 lap, 5.8km)
A pitchy little loop with a drawn-out final sprint that’s slightly uphill. This one is all about timing: modulating your power to efficiently maintain momentum on the short climbs, activating your powerup for maximum effectiveness… and where should you start your final sprint?
Powerup: Burrito (1x)
Race 2: The 6 Train (1 Lap, 6.6km)
One quick clockwise loop of Central Park’s inner roads. Do you use your aero to stay in touch with the pack, or save it for the long, flat finishing sprint?
Powerup: Aero Boost (1x)
Race 3: Richmond 2015 Worlds Reverse (4km)
This is gonna be a wild one! Start with a descent, then a longish climb. Grab a burrito at the banner, then it’s a quick descent into a steep, short kicker (20%+!). Grab another burrito at the Libby Hill KOM banner, then descend Libby’s cobbles and end on the paved, straight downhill that follows. Climbers will get away on the last kicker, but bigger riders may just be able to chase them back!
Powerup: Draft Boost (2x)
Race 4: Jungle Circuit Reverse (6.3km)
This mostly downhill race covers just the lead-in of the Jungle Circuit Reverse route, which includes the rope bridge. Race ends at the Jungle banner. Bring your gravel bike… maybe?
Powerup: none

ZwiftPower Results

Zwift displays the finish order in game when you cross the line, but points are computed after all four races are finished, with final results on ZwiftPower. (We have to do some data processing on our side to compute results, so if your rankings don’t show up right away, be patient.)

Riders earn points based on finish position in each of the 4 Tiny Races. The category winner of each week is the rider with the most points across their zone’s 4 races. Here are the links for each zone’s latest results on ZwiftPower:

Rules

Tiny Race rules are simple, but still every week ~10% of our racers get disqualified. Don’t let that be you! Four races, four rules:

  1. You must have a ZwiftPower account, because final results are processed by ZwiftPower (learn how to sign up)
  2. No skipping then returning. These races are meant to be raced as a set of 4. If you need to leave early, that’s fine… but once you miss a race in your hour’s set of 4, don’t come back and race another or you’ll be disqualified from that race since you rested while others were racing! (Example: racing only races 1 and 2 is fine. Racing 1, 2, and 4 is not – you will be DQ from race 4.)
  3. Heart rate monitors are required.
  4. Smart trainer/smart bike or power meter required. ZPower/Virtual power is not allowed.

Join a Chat & Chill Cooldown

Immediately following each hour’s racing we’ve scheduled 30-minute “Chat & Chill” events where riders from all categories can spin their legs together and chat about how it all went down. Find them at zwift.com/events/tag/tinyraces.

Zwift Insider Kit Unlock

Finish any Tiny Race or a Chat & Chill ride and unlock the Zwift Insider “Ride Smarter // Ride Harder” in-game kit.

You can also buy our real-life kit from Verge Sport > (read review)
