Slightly Problematic yet Lovely from bikecheck February 9, 2021

When I got this, I was relatively new to the whole smart trainer realm. I made a lot of mistakes, like using the wrong speed cassette on the back and didn't realize it for weeks. The resistance was super funky when I first got it, but it got better after a while. I finally cleaned my chain, an old cassette, and the derailleur system on my bike. This made the whole set up super quiet. Works really well with zwift over Bluetooth. Great machine, purchased for $370 USD and no regrets.

Accurate power Well-built Quiet

Affordable and quiet semi-smart trainer from Jason January 26, 2021

First impression, the trainer is extremely well packed - doubled boxed and each major components are placed in fitted styrofoam. The item is heavy which is a good sign since stability was the biggest issue I had with some cheaper turbo trainers. Though the weight did make the installation process slightly troublesome. At the time of the review, it is listed for $399 USD retail. When I purchased it about a month ago, it was just $299 on Amazon.

After setting up the trainer and putting on my Ultegra 11-28t cassette (and later switched to a spare 105 11-32t), I removed the quick release adapter and replaced with the through-axle one that came with the package. Put in battery that came with the trainer, then it's a smooth sail to setup the trainer with the "Magene Utility" app, before connecting to Zwift. I initially thought the trainer was somewhat loud until I realized it was coming from my somewhat dirty and dry chain and cassette. I thoroughly cleaned my components, and WOOOW this thing is quiet afffff!!! It was perfect as WFH schedule is getting out of control, so I could hop on the trainer for a quick spin during late nights.

After thorough rides, the power meter output is quite accurate. Note that the trainer does not have resistance as it stays at a ~3% resistance. In my case, I didn't care much for that feature which makes this trainer very cost-efficient. Also, I'm not a strong sprinter as my avg 10s output is below 800w, and I don't plan on sprinting on a trainer with my carbon bike. So, the upper limit of 700w on this trainer is ideal for my needs!
