The Col des Aravis is a mountain pass in the French Alps connecting the towns of La Clusaz and La Giettaz. Zwift’s segment is from the “easier” La Clusaz side.
While not a particularly steep climb, the Aravis from this side is distinctive because of its triple zig-zags. In real life, the climb marks the border between the departments of Savoie and Haute-Savoie and offers a splendid panorama of the snow-capped Mont-Blanc.
This climb has been included in the Tour de France 42 times, first in 1911 and most recently in Stage 15 of the 2023 Tour.
