Route Description
Starting with a short lead-in from the Seafoam start pens to that circuit’s lap arch, the route proper begins by covering just the first bit of the Seafoam Circuit before heading across to the town of Avalon. (This is a real-life town, by the way, including the iconic Casino visible on your right as you head out of town! Because of its unique scenery and proximity to Hollywood, Avalon and Catalina Island have featured in hundreds of motion pictures over the years, hence the “Camera” portion of the route title.)
You’ll cross a long bridge to leave Avalon, then wind your way up toward the Jungle on the single-climbiest section of road in the Wild Isles. (Don’t worry, though – it’s not steep. Just draggy.)
You’ll turn right to begin the Mayan Jungle portion of the ride, which is approximately half of the overall route length. You’ll ride a figure 8 of the Jungle, heading down CCW through the lap arch, cutting across the middle of the circuit, then heading up past the sloth and over the rope bridge before cutting across the middle once more and returning to pavement and the road to Avalon.
Now retrace your steps (or pedal strokes) down the winding road to Avalon. It’s much more fun in this direction! Cross the bridge, hit the Sunset Sprint in the other direction, then head over to visit the bison head on the Seafoam Circuit. You’ll complete the circuit you began at the start of the ride, finishing the route at the Seafoam lap arch.
